Chapter Eighty-Four: The Birthday Storm in the Imperial Palace
I looked up.
Kid, what are you doing here? Celebrating a birthday? Why did you bring that shiny long whip of yours?
"Is it Princess Rui Yin? I don't know what brings you here." Lin Xuan asked with an unchanged expression.
"Of course it's for Ling'er's birthday." Then, without waiting for Lin Xuan's response, he stepped into the palace.
"Bad sister, what are you doing here? Lian'er doesn't want you!" Lian'er took a step forward. Lin Xuan held her back, signaling her to be quiet. "I wonder if the imperial sister has prepared a meal for me?" Princess Rui Yin said with a pleased expression.
"Yes, of course." I glanced at her, "Your Majesty the Queen doesn't have to bother with uninvited guests, I'll take care of everything."
"You!" Princess Rui Yin's face turned red with anger and she raised her long whip, ready to strike.
"Princess Rui Yin, this is my Xin Xue Palace, please don't be too presumptuous." Lin Xuan's icy voice rang out.
Princess Rui Yin reluctantly withdrew her hand.
At the dinner table, Lin Xuan sat opposite Princess Rui Yin. While Liang'er and Qi'er were willing to squeeze together with their mother, they refused to get close to Princess Rui Yin at all.
Rui Yin Gongzhu hummed from her nose, but didn't say a word. She took another look at the dishes on the table and couldn't help but brighten up: "These dishes are actually from Ya Xian Ju?"
"The princess is indeed knowledgeable." I stood by and said, "Right, it's the Western food of Rongxuan House." Unexpectedly, the reputation of Rongxuan House has already spread to the palace. It really makes me feel a sense of accomplishment!
"My uncle once brought me a portion from the palace, it's truly an unforgettable experience in this life." Then he was about to pick up his knife and fork.
"Hold on, Princess!" I suddenly stopped her. "These dishes weren't prepared for you." With that, two plates appeared out of nowhere.
"Persimmons and sweet potatoes, please try some, princess." I placed a plate of unwashed persimmons and a plate of roasted sweet potatoes in front of her.
"You! You dare to treat me like this? I am Princess Rui Yin!" The princess slammed her hand on the table and stood up.
"Princess, calm down. This place wasn't originally prepared for you. You came uninvited and it's not something I could have anticipated. If you can't condescend to eat these two dishes, then please leave."
"Hmm!" Princess Rui Yin looked at me, then at the other Western dishes on the table, and could only pick up her chopsticks in silence to eat the persimmon and sweet potato.
"Eh, princess, aren't you afraid it's poisonous?" I suddenly asked from beside her.
The princess swallowed the sweet potato in her mouth: "I bet you don't dare!"
As soon as I finished speaking, I fell silent. But the princess's eyes suddenly lit up, and a sly smile spread across her face.
The table was silent for a moment. A moment later——
"Eh, ouch, how painful is this?" The princess covered her lower abdomen and made a pained expression. Facing her, Liang'er shouted: "Bad sister, what trick are you playing again." Qi'er also looked up at her mother. Lin Xuan Yan just stared at Rui Yin Princess.
"Oh no, it hurts so much!" Princess Rui Yin slowly got down from the chair, her expression increasingly painful.
"Princess, you just said I didn't dare to poison the dish, how come now it's poisoned?" I sneered. You don't know what's good for you, you should taste some bitter fruit.
I'll take care of this woman!
Rui Yin Gong Zhu was currently lying on the ground. Suddenly, her lower abdomen contracted, and a wave of indescribable pain swept through her entire body: "Ah!" She let out a miserable cry, and fell to the ground with a thud: "Pain, pain..." Intermittent, her hand pressing against her lower abdomen unconsciously applied more force. Her eyes glared at me fiercely: "You, actually poisoned me!"
"Princess, weren't you poisoned just now? How come you're only thinking of blaming me now?" I smiled with an innocent face.
"Ah!" A wave of pain washed over her and Princess Rui Yin let out another mournful cry.
