Chapter 34: I Know

The young man who had brought her there smiled, his eyes gleaming with a lustful light. "Meesha Dasilva," he said, his voice low and husky. "I've been watching you for the past few months, waiting for you to show up at night without your bodyguards. Today must be my lucky day."

Meesha felt a chill run down her spine as he reached out and played with her hair. She tried to step back, but the group of boys closed in around her, trapping her.

"You're even more beautiful up close," the young man said, his eyes scanning her body lustfully. "I can see why you're a celebrity. You've got the perfect body, the perfect face... everything."

Meesha felt her heart racing with fear, and she was paralyzed with terror. She couldn't move or speak.

The young man turned to his friends, a sly grin spreading across his face. "Guys, won't it be great to have fun with a celebrity? And even better, we'll take a video of it."

The other boys agreed, their voices filled with excitement. Meesha felt a wave of fear wash over her, her heart skipping a beat.

The young man turned back to her, his eyes gleaming with lust. "You're going to have so much fun with us," he said, his voice dripping with malice.

Meesha felt a surge of adrenaline, but she was frozen in fear. The young man reached out and grabbed her arm, pulling her towards him.

"You're going to be our little plaything tonight," he sneered, his eyes filled with cruelty. "And there's nothing you can do to stop us."

Just as he was about to push her to the ground, someone kicked him from the side. The young man flew through the air, hitting the building wall with a sickening thud. Meesha heard the sound of his bone breaking – crunching and deadly.

Meesha looked up to see who had saved her, and her eyes widened in shock as she saw Xanqer standing there.

He was wearing a face cap and a black nose mask, which made him almost unrecognizable. Meesha felt a wave of relief wash over her as she saw him.

The other college boys got angry, their faces twisted with rage. They moved towards Xanqer, but he didn't back down. Instead, he cracked his knuckles and prepared to fight.

Xanqer fought with a precision and skill that Meesha had never seen before. He took down the college boys one by one, his movements swift and deadly. Meesha watched in awe as he broke bones and sent the boys crashing to the ground.

The leader of the group, the boy who had been harassing Meesha, tried to attack Xanqer from behind. But Xanqer was too quick, and he caught the boy's arm and twisted it behind his back. The boy cried out in pain as Xanqer dragged him to Meesha and kicked him to his knees.

"Apologize," Xanqer ordered, his voice cold and menacing.

The boy looked up at Meesha with a mixture of fear and shame in his eyes. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. We'll never cross your path again."

Meesha was stunned. She had never seen Xanqer fight before, and she had no idea he was so skilled.

The boy quickly scrambled to his feet and escaped, followed by the other college boys. Meesha watched them go, then turned to Xanqer. Her fear disappeared, a bright smile following.

"Xanqer! You came to save me! Does that mean you have feelings for me?" she asked excitedly, wriggling his arm.

Xanqer was caught off guard by her question, but only for a moment. He removed his arm from her grasp, his tone flat as he replied, "I just came to help."

Meesha smiled, undeterred. "Thank you so much, Xanqer! You're the best!"

Xanqer scolded her. "You said you always go alone at night. Is this what you meant by you'll be fine?"

Meesha's face lit up with a smile. "I didn't know. I didn't know they would suddenly come. It's not my fault."

Xanqer raised an eyebrow. "Then whose fault is it?"

Meesha slowly raised her finger and pointed at Xanqer, a small smile on her face. "Yours."

Xanqer was taken aback. Meesha nodded, "Yes, you should have stopped me when I said I was going out alone at night."

Xanqer looked at her, surprised, then his expression changed back to his indifferent, cold one. He turned and walked away.

Meesha quickly ran after him. "Hey, I was just joking. No need to take offense."

Xanqer reached a car, and who Davis was sitting in the driver's seat, nodded to Meesha as a polite greeting. Xanqer got into the backseat.

Meesha asked eagerly, "Should I come in?"

Xanqer looked at her and sneered. "Don't you have your own car?"

  Meesha nodded, "I do, but—"

  Xanqer said to Davis, "Drive."

Before Meesha could say another word, Davis drove off, leaving her in the dust. Meesha coughed, then pouted. She went to her own car and drove.

  [IN XANQER'S CAR]

As Davis drove, Xanqer's phone buzzed with an incoming text message. He pulled it out and saw that it was from Meesha. A hint of smile appeared on his face as he read the message.

"Xanqer! I'm trailing behind your car! As soon as you get off, the next thing you'll see is my beautiful face (Heart emoji)"

Xanqer's eyes lingered on the message for a moment. He then looked up, his eyes locking on Meesha's car through the rearview mirror. He watched her car as he sipped water from a plastic bottle. After a moment, he replied to the message. "Don't text while driving."

As soon as he sent the message, Meesha replied instantly, "Alright. See you at home then." Xanqer read the message, then put his phone down and continued looking at Meesha's car.

Davis glanced at him several times, his eyes filled with curiosity. He was unsure whether to speak or not. Finally, he spoke up, his voice cautious. "Mr. Qren, you've been monitoring Miss. Dasilva's movements these past days. And you came here as soon as you heard she was in trouble."

Davis paused, choosing his words carefully. "Are you developing feelings for her?"

As soon as Davis spoke, Xanqer spat out the water he was drinking, his eyes widening in surprise. Davis glanced back at him, taken aback.

Xanqer's cold expression returned, and he replied, his voice firm. "Never."

Davis nodded. "It's good that way. If you develop feelings for her, things will surely go wrong."

He added, his voice low and serious. "The full moon is in 17 days. Remember, you have to kill her before the night of the full moon."

Xanqer leaned into the seat, threw his head back, and closed his eyes. "I know."

Davis didn't say anything and continued driving, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. He glanced at Meesha's car through the side mirror, his expression unreadable.
