Chapter 47: Something Pink

  [THE NEXT MORNING]

Meesha slowly opened her eyes, taking in the sight of Xanqer's face inches from hers. He was already awake, his eyes fixed intently on her face. It was as if he had been waiting for her to wake up, his gaze drinking in the sight of her.

Meesha felt a blush rise to her cheeks as she realized she was the focus of his attention. She looked away, trying to compose herself, but Xanqer's voice rang in her ears.

  "Good morning," he whispered.

Meesha's blush deepened as she turned back to face him. "Good morning," she replied.

Xanqer's lips curved upwards. He leaned in, his lips brushing against her ear. "You look beautiful in the morning."

Meesha's blush spread to her neck and chest at Xanqer's compliment. She smiled, feeling a little shy but also happy.

Xanqer pulled her closer, his body shifting so that he was partially on top of her. Meesha felt a thrill run through her body as she realized she was trapped beneath him.

But instead of feeling scared or trapped, Meesha felt safe and protected. She smiled up at Xanqer, her eyes locking onto his.

Xanqer smiled back, his eyes burning with affection. He leaned in, his lips capturing hers. Meesha felt a spark of electricity run through her body as she realized he was kissing her.

She smiled, feeling happy and carefree. Xanqer kissed her again, his lips gentle and soothing. Meesha felt her heart fill with love and affection for him.

As they kissed, Meesha realized that she felt completely at ease with Xanqer. She felt like she could be herself around him, without fear of judgment or rejection.

Meesha felt a surge of happiness as she realized that she was exactly where she was meant to be - in Xanqer's arms.

  ********

After breakfast, Meesha lounged on the couch with Xanqer, waiting for Davis to arrive. The morning sunlight streaming through the windows cast a warm glow over the room.

Soon, the doorbell rang, breaking the tranquility. Meesha jumped up to answer the door, revealing Davis's face. "Oh, come in," she said, stepping aside to let him enter.

Davis greeted Xanqer with a respectful nod. "Good morning, Mr. Qren." Xanqer gestured for him to take a seat on the opposite couch, his movements fluid and effortless.

Meesha scampered back to Xanqer, plopping down sideways on his lap. Xanqer wrapped a casual arm around her waist. The gesture was intimate and possessive, sending a clear message.

"Davis, guess what," Meesha exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Davis's eyes widened in surprise, his gaze fixed on the intimate scene before him. He seemed at a loss for words, his mouth hanging open in stunned silence.

Xanqer's expression remained indifferent at Davis' surprise. Meesha's announcement hung in the air, waiting for Davis to respond.

When Davis finally found his voice, it was laced with disbelief. "Mr. Qren…" He trailed off, his eyes darting between Xanqer and Meesha. He looked at Xanqer, who met his gaze with an indifferent expression.

Since Davis didn't guess, Meesha filled the silence, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm. "I and Mr. Qren are in a relationship together!" The room seemed to hold its breath as Davis's face turned ashen.

As soon as Davis heard her, he felt like his head would explode. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. "Sir, is this true?" he asked Xanqer, his voice trembling slightly.

Xanqer's voice turned cold, his tone dripping with warning. "Didn't you hear what she said?"

Davis was stunned, his eyes darting between Xanqer and Meesha once again.

"But she's–" Davis began, but Xanqer's cold stare silenced him. Meesha remained oblivious to the tension, her smile still radiant.

Xanqer then faced Meesha, his expression softening. "Meesha, I have something important to discuss with Davis. Go upstairs, okay?" His voice was gentle, but firm.

Meesha nodded, her face still aglow with excitement. "Okay." She hopped off Xanqer's lap and skipped upstairs, leaving the two men alone.

As soon as Meesha left the room, Davis's composure crumbled. "Sir, you're in a relationship with Miss Dasilva," he stated, his voice laced with incredulity. "You said you had no feelings for her."

Xanqer's face turned glacial, his eyes flashing with a warning. "I lied. So what?"

The air seemed to vibrate with tension as Davis struggled to comprehend the situation.

Davis's eyes bulged, his face pale. "But you know you have to... eliminate her on the full moon."

  Xanqer's expression remained unyielding. "I won't."

A heavy silence fell between them, punctuated only by Davis's uneasy shifting. He cleared his throat, choosing his words carefully. "Sir, being with her poses significant risks. If they discover your relationship, they'll exploit her as your weakness and use her to manipulate you."

Xanqer's eyes darkened, his gaze piercing. He remained silent, but his body language screamed warning.

Davis pressed on, his voice laced with concern. "Even if you refuse to eliminate her, the others won't hesitate. Once they learn Meesha is the one, they'll stop at nothing to destroy her." The air seemed to vibrate with tension as Xanqer's expression transformed, his eyes blazing with a deadly intensity. Davis felt a shiver run down his spine.

"No one dares to touch her on my watch," Xanqer growled, his voice low and menacing. The words sent a chill through Davis, and he wisely chose to remain silent.

After a few moments of silence, Xanqer stood up, his tall frame unfolding from the couch as he called out to Meesha. "Meesha, I'm leaving for the office."

Meesha's voice echoed from upstairs, "Okay, I'll be right down!" She came running down the stairs, her hair bouncing behind her. She reached Xanqer and smiled up at him. "Have a safe trip, okay?"

Xanqer smiled back, patting her head. "I will."

Davis watched the exchange, his eyes wide with surprise. He couldn't believe that the cold, stoic Xanqer could ever fall in love. And with Meesha, a target he had wanted to kill just a short time ago. Davis's mind was reeling with the implications.

Xanqer's eyes flicked to Davis, his expression turning cold. "Do I have to tell you before you know you should wait outside?" His voice was low and even, but Davis could sense the underlying warning.

Davis quickly apologized, "Sorry, Mr. Qren. I'll wait outside." He beat a hasty retreat, not wanting to incur Xanqer's wrath.

Xanqer turned back to Meesha, his expression softening. "I'll see you tonight," he said, his voice low and husky. Meesha nodded, her eyes shining with happiness. He leaned in, his lips brushing against Meesha's in a gentle goodbye kiss.

Xanqer straightened up, his eyes never leaving Meesha's face. He turned and walked out of the house, Meesha following him to the door. They shared a brief kiss on the porch before Xanqer turned and walked down the steps.

Meesha waved as the car drove away, a smile still on her face. Xanqer watched her from the backseat, his eyes never leaving her face until the car turned the corner and she was out of sight.

As the car drove away, Xanqer's eyes flicked to the far side of the seat, where something pink caught his eye. He reached out and picked it up, his fingers closing around the soft fabric.

He looked down, a small smile spreading across his face as he realized what it was.

  Meesha's panties.
