Chapter 56: Possessive

Meesha felt a flutter in her chest, but it wasn't excitement or attraction. She simply felt nervous, unsure of how to react to the man's forward comment. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. She didn't know what to say or how to react.

The man's smiled again, his eyes glinting with amusement. "I'm Yanxhao," he said extending his hand for a handshake. "Nice meeting you."

Meesha hesitated for a moment, then reached out to take his hand.

But just as their palms were about to touch, she was suddenly pulled away, her back hitting a firm chest. She looked up behind her and saw Xanqer behind, his face dark and forbidding.

"Stay away from her," Xanqer growled, his voice low and menacing.

Yanxhao didn't reply; he simply put his hands in his pockets and smiled leisurely.

Yanxhao's eyes locked onto Meesha's, his gaze lingering on her face. A small, charming smile played on his lips as he took in her appearance.

Xanqer's eyes narrowed in anger. He stepped forward, his presence commanding attention. "Yanxhao," he warned, his voice menacing.

Yanxhao's smile never wavered as he turned to Xanqer. "Xanqer," he replied, his voice smooth and easygoing.

The air was thick with tension as the two men faced off. Meesha stood frozen, her eyes fixed on Xanqer's angry face. Yanxhao's eyes flicked to her, and he smiled again, his gaze lingering on her face.

"You're as possessive as ever, I see," Yanxhao said, his voice dripping with amusement.

Xanqer's face darkened, his eyes blazing with fury. He took another step forward, his eyes flashing with a hint of warning. "Stay away from her, Yanxhao," he said, his voice low and deadly. "I won't warn you again."

The silence between them was oppressive, the tension building with each passing moment. Meesha's eyes darted between the two men, her heart pounding in her chest.

Suddenly, Xanqer's hand shot out, wrapping around Meesha's wrist. He pulled her close, his eyes never leaving Yanxhao's face. "Let's go," he said.

Meesha's eyes widened as she was pulled away, her heart racing as she stumbled to keep up with Xanqer's long strides. What had just happened? And why had Xanqer reacted so strongly to her conversation with Yanxhao?

As they stepped into the cool, quiet space of Xanqer's office, Xanqer released her wrist, his eyes never leaving hers. "Meesha, why were you talking to him?" he asked, his voice low and possessive.

Meesha felt a sense of trepidation as she met Xanqer's gaze. "I...I don't know," she stammered. "He just started talking to me, and—"

Xanqer's expression darkened, his jaw clenched in anger. "I don't like it when you talk to other men," he growled, his voice sending a thrill through Meesha's vein. "Don't ever talk to Yanxhao again, okay?"

Meesha nodded, a smile on her face. "Okay."

But as she looked up at Xanqer, Meesha couldn't help but wonder how Yanxhao knew her and his relationship with Xanqer.

Meesha brows furrowed, her mind racing with possibilities. Had Xanqer told him?

"Who is he to you?" Meesha asked, her voice curious.

Xanqer's expression turned dismissive, his eyes glinting with a hint of annoyance. "He's irrelevant," he said, his voice curt.

Meesha's eyes narrowed, her mind whirling with possibilities. There was something about Xanqer's tone, something that suggested he was hiding something.

She thought for a moment, her eyes locked on Xanqer's face. And then, on a hunch, she asked, "Is he your brother?"

Xanqer's eyebrow shot up. "Why'd you ask that?" he demanded, his voice sharp, but gentle.

Meesha shrugged, her tone casual. "Well, because he has a weird name too, and he's also handsome—"

Xanqer was momentarily stunned by Meesha's statement. "He's handsome?" he repeated, his voice incredulous.

Meesha's eyes widened. "No, that's not what I meant," she protested, waving her hands in a gesture of denial.

Xanqer's gaze narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. He took a step closer to Meesha, his eyes blazing with intensity. "You think he's handsome?" he demanded.

Meesha took a step back, her eyes fixed on Xanqer's face. "Xanqer, calm down," she said, her voice soothing.

But Xanqer was beyond reason. He was consumed by a fierce jealousy, a possessiveness that threatened to overwhelm him. He took another step closer to Meesha, his eyes burning with intensity.

"You're mine," he growled, his voice low and primal. "You belong to me, and no one else."

Meesha's eyes widened, her heart racing with excitement. She knew that look in Xanqer's eyes, that fierce possessiveness that made her feel wanted and cherished.

Her eyes locked onto Xanqer's, her heart racing with excitement. Xanqer was claiming her, marking her as his own, and she felt a thrill run through her veins.

"I belong to you," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Xanqer's eyes flashed with triumph, his face relaxing into a fierce smile. He reached out, his hands closing around her waist, pulling her close.

"You do," he growled, his lips brushing against her ear. "You're mine, Meesha. And I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe."

Meesha shivered, her heart racing with excitement. She loved it when Xanqer got possessive, when he showed her how much he cared. And right now, she could feel the intensity of his emotions, the depth of his passion.

As Xanqer's lips trailed down her neck, Meesha felt herself melting into his touch. She knew that she was his, that she belonged to him, and she was happy to surrender to his possessiveness.

But as she looked up at Xanqer, she saw something in his eyes, something that made her heart skip a beat. It was a glimmer of uncertainty, a hint of vulnerability, and Meesha felt a pang of curiosity.

What was Xanqer hiding? And why was he so determined to keep her away from Yanxhao?
