Chapter 30: Wei Yu Gong Exits the Trial

The mother Wind Fox was hot on their heels.

Both of them were in a state of panic. Wei Yu Gong quickly downed two potions to alleviate his injuries while speeding up to shake off the Wind Fox.

Suddenly, they caught sight of other trial participants in their peripheral vision!

It was a group of three trial disciples, likely from the Chi family. Wei Yu Gong’s eyes lit up, and he immediately ran toward them.

If he could lure the Wind Fox toward them, he and Qian’er could escape unscathed!

This wouldn’t count as a violation since he wasn’t directly harming the other disciples!

However, the three disciples also saw Wei Yu Gong and Nan Gong Qian’er running toward them, along with the Wind Fox behind them. At first, they thought they could help deal with the situation.

But when they realized the Wind Fox was a three-life beast, they were terrified out of their wits!

"Stay away from us!" one of the female disciples screamed, retreating. But Wei Yu Gong had already targeted them, brushing past them in hopes of redirecting the Wind Fox’s attention.

The three disciples were so scared their legs went weak. The female disciple even collapsed to the ground, trembling uncontrollably, completely unable to fight.

They were filled with despair—not just toward the Wind Fox, but also toward Nan Gong Qian’er and Wei Yu Gong. They never expected them to be so ruthless!

"Nan Gong Qian’er, Wei Yu Gong, this is a violation! A violation!" one of the male disciples shouted from the ground. This was clearly against the trial rules!

"Humph, we didn’t harm you, so it’s not a violation!" Wei Yu Gong snorted, tossing out this excuse before immediately running off.

As the Wind Fox closed in, the three disciples were about to activate their red rings to escape. But to their surprise, the Wind Fox didn’t even glance at them. It charged straight toward Wei Yu Gong and Nan Gong Qian’er, using its speed to pin Wei Yu Gong to the ground with its claws!

Its claws dug into his shoulders, tearing out chunks of flesh!

Nan Gong Qian’er was thrown aside, rolling on the ground in a disheveled state.

The three disciples exchanged glances. Seeing that the Wind Fox wasn’t interested in them, they scrambled away as fast as they could.

"Don’t leave! Help us!" Nan Gong Qian’er pleaded, but the three disciples didn’t look back.

The Wind Fox let out a furious roar, lowering its head to bite Wei Yu Gong’s neck.

It was going to finish off these two humans!

But Wei Yu Gong had plenty of self-preservation tricks up his sleeve. He activated a talisman, and in the next moment, a burst of golden light erupted, releasing energy comparable to a three-life beast!

The Wind Fox let out a pained howl, its eyes stinging as it retreated into the bushes and disappeared.

"Brother Yu Gong, are you okay?" Nan Gong Qian’er, tears streaming down her face, crawled over to the fallen Wei Yu Gong, grabbing his hand with concern.

"Qian’er, I can’t hold on any longer. I might have to leave," Wei Yu Gong glanced at the red ring on his finger, spitting out a mouthful of blood. He was severely injured and couldn’t move. If he stayed any longer, he’d lose his life!

"Brother Yu Gong, the trial has just started. We can’t give up now," Nan Gong Qian’er sobbed. If Wei Yu Gong left, she’d be alone, and her chances of winning first place would be slim.

Wei Yu Gong was also filled with frustration. After all this effort, they only had a few yellow flags, while Nan Gong Huan had several times more!

But his body was in terrible condition, and he had run out of potions. If he didn’t leave now, he might die here.

Compared to losing, he valued his life more.

"I’m sorry, Qian’er," Wei Yu Gong endured the pain and activated the power of the red ring.

In a flash of red light, his figure vanished from the scene.

"Brother Yu Gong!" Nan Gong Qian’er cried out helplessly, feeling a pang of guilt.

She clenched her fists, her body trembling, her eyes filled with venom. If it weren’t for that wretch Nan Gong Huan, Brother Yu Gong wouldn’t have had to exit the trial!

  Judges’ Platform.

A flash of red light signaled Wei Yu Gong’s return. He breathed a sigh of relief before passing out.

The Wei family elders immediately called for someone to treat his injuries.

"These injuries suggest he went through a life-and-death struggle," Xue Lao stroked his beard, speculating.

"What a pity. I thought they had a chance to rank in the top few. I didn’t expect them to be the first to be sent back," Song Que glanced at the rankings on the crystal panel. The first-place team had an overwhelming lead.

He had thought Nan Gong Qian’er’s team might not take first place, but they could at least secure second. Now, that seemed unlikely.

"The trial is a life-and-death struggle. Surviving is already an achievement," Song Xi Ran sipped her tea, calmly observing Wei Yu Gong.

Song Que nodded. "True, but given his talent, I can draft an invitation for him to join our Fengxuan Royal Academy."

As he spoke, he took out paper and pen to write the invitation.

In the shadows, Madam Shen watched the scene unfold, her handkerchief clenched tightly in her hand.

Even without Wei Yu Gong, her Qian’er could still achieve victory!

  ......

  Tap, tap, tap.

The sound of footsteps approached, causing Nan Gong Qian’er to look up.

Her eyes were bloodshot as she glared at the two people in front of her, trembling with rage.

"Well, well, Sister Qian’er, why are you alone? Where’s your Brother Yu Gong?" Nan Gong Huan taunted, pretending to be unaware of Wei Yu Gong’s fate.

She had originally planned to search for Thornberries, but these two had run in the same direction, so she stopped to watch the spectacle.

"Nan Gong Huan, this is all your doing! You wretch, how vile your schemes are!" Nan Gong Qian’er slowly stood up, her hair disheveled, her face twisted with fury.

In her current state, she looked no different from a wild monkey in the mountains.

"You need evidence to accuse someone. Which eye of yours saw me do it?" Nan Gong Huan spread her hands innocently. She was being wronged!

Ye Wan Jun stifled a laugh behind her, feeling immense satisfaction at seeing Nan Gong Qian’er in such a sorry state.

With Wei Yu Gong gone, Nan Gong Qian’er was left completely isolated.
