Chapter 8: Leviathan Gorilla

Chapter 8: Leviathan Gorilla (Shelf Explosion Seeking Votes and Fresh Flowers)

The direction from which the sound came was near the water source mentioned by Romagreni earlier.

Two men ran out of the cave, one in front and one behind, just as Cromwell came rushing back like a mad dog.

"Monster... monster... the monster took Ina away!" Cromwell looked extremely disheveled, his luxurious wizard robe covered in mud and leaves, and he spoke in a breathless manner.

Lin Li saw this scene and couldn't help but shake his head secretly.

This guy is really hopeless, no wonder earlier when Luomagelani went out with him, his face didn't look too good. This softie, if I had a daughter, I wouldn't be happy about you hanging out with her...

"What monster? Speak plainly!" Concerned for his own daughter, MacGregor's eyes flashed with anger, and the courtesy that had tempered his gaze earlier was gone.

"Just... just now... when I went to fetch water with Ina, a strange creature suddenly appeared beside us! It it it... it took Ina away..."

"Damn it!" Lin Li threw out a curse, and didn't bother to care about this soft egg anymore. He added another swift movement technique to himself, and like the wind, he passed through the dense thicket.

Behind the thicket, there was a small stream flowing gently, which was probably the water source mentioned by Romagreni. Next to the stream, a water bag was quietly placed on the fallen leaves, with clear water still inside, gurgling out slowly.

Lin Li bent down and picked up the water bag, put it to her ear and shook it, finding that there was still half a bag of clear water inside.

  "He shouldn't have gone far!"

Take another look at the footprints on the ground, but they are exceptionally messy, with big and small, deep and shallow ones. The smaller ones should be left by Ina and Crenwell, while the bigger footprints made Lin Li take a cold breath!

"Leviathan Ape!" Lin Li was convinced that he wasn't mistaken, this was absolutely the footprint of an 8th-level magical beast, Leviathan Ape. Back in the mountains, he had seen it once or twice outside Anduin's hut, but at those times, the old man would always downplay it, saying a few little rascals wanted to cause trouble and were chased away by him...

Anduin can be regarded as a little rascal, Lin Li doesn't have that tone, the eighth-level demon beast is not a joke, even in this Sunset Mountain Range, it is absolutely considered to be a mid-tier creature in the food chain.

But at the same time as he confirmed it was a Leviathan Ape, Lin Li also let out a slight sigh of relief.

If it were any other beast, Ina would probably be dead by now. Only the fact that she encountered a Leviathan Ape saved her from certain doom for the time being. Unlike other ferocious beasts, the Leviathan Apes are not too keen on killing, just as Anduin said, they're just a bunch of mischievous little brats.

"It was the Leviathan Ape that took Ina away."

  "Leviathan Gorilla?"

"In the Sunset Mountains, there's another kind of creature that isn't too keen on killing. If I'm not mistaken, Ina might be crying now, but she shouldn't be in any life-threatening danger." Lin Li looked at the messy footprints on the ground and added in a low voice, "From the looks of it, there should only be one."

The situation wasn't as bad as he had imagined, and Logan relaxed slightly.

The two men no longer paid attention to Cromwell and continued along the footprints by the brook.

Lin Li was indeed correct, and from a distance, the two of them could already hear Ina's sobbing.

The cry came from a dense forest, far away, the trees in that dense forest seemed particularly tall and majestic, the leaves also seemed particularly lush, and among those towering trees, there were tough vines everywhere. These vines connected together, just like a giant net.

Lin Li had once heard Anduin say that this was the unique architectural style of the Leviathan apes, who wove vines into a massive net. Wherever their territory expanded to, the net would cover it. For the Leviathan apes, this net was both their nest and their most powerful weapon. With this net, they could accomplish many things that even high-level magical beasts couldn't do.

The long-legged beauty who was caught was now trapped in the giant net.

"Go away! You monster... Go away!" Ina cried out as she struggled desperately.

Hearing Ina's cry for help, the two rushed forward immediately.

Only when they arrived under the tree did they see that Ina was tied up in a giant net, with rattan strips wrapped around her layer by layer, like a big rice dumpling. Meanwhile, the Leviathan ape had somehow gotten hold of a paintbrush and was painting circles on Ina's face while making strange "gaga" laughter sounds.

"Ah!" Lin Li suddenly felt that this Leviathan ape was a bit perverted. As a demonic beast, it had caught a human but didn't tear or bite him, instead using a pen to draw circles on his face. What kind of perversion was this?

"Ina!" After all, it was a father-daughter bond. When Luomageini saw his daughter crying, he became even more anxious under the tree.

But he was so anxious that he forgot there was an eighth-level magic beast on the tree.

"Dad, be careful!" The long-legged beauty's voice had just fallen when Lin Li suddenly heard a burst of breaking air coming from above, followed by a dull thud. Rogmegreni, who was still shouting his daughter's name, didn't even have time to dodge before being knocked unconscious by a coconut falling from the sky.

"Hahahaha!" A coconut fell on the human on the ground, and Leviathan the gorilla was so excited that he jumped up and down while laughing strangely, even turning around to wiggle his butt at the two.

Having learned a lesson from Luo Maigre, Lin Li hurriedly hid behind a tree to prevent the dead gibbon from launching another sneak attack with coconuts.

Who knew he had just dodged behind a tree when he suddenly felt his feet lighten and then the whole person fell over.

"My goodness!" Lin Li never thought that under the tree where he was hiding, there was a rattan rod with one end tied to a living knot and the other end in the hands of Leviathan the gorilla. The dead gorilla pulled the rattan rod, and Lin Li's whole body was lifted up.

Lin Li's reaction was extremely fast, and he quickly rose into the air. His heart remained exceptionally calm, and there was no sign of him chanting any incantations. He simply made a strange hand gesture, and a sharp gust of wind shot out with a piercing sound that shattered the air.

With this gusty blade, the sinister rattan was cut off, and a feather-falling technique was applied to himself. Lin Li barely escaped the trap, but what followed was another wave of coconut attacks like a stormy rain.

I don't know where that dead gibbon got so many coconuts from, and with a storm of crazy smashing, at least several hundred coconuts fell down.

This mess is really getting on Lin Li's nerves.

The Leviathan Ape was a true eighth-level magical beast, and this coconut that fell from its hand knocked even the warrior Romagreni unconscious on the spot, let alone Lin Li who didn't have a strong physique.

Each coconut hitting him made Lin Li feel as if he had been hit by a shell.

It's really too brutal, one after another coconut smashed down, pressing Lin Li to the point where he couldn't even lift his head.

In the midst of this, Lin Li also had some opportunities to counterattack, either with a couple of Wind Blades or several Ice Needles, but these spells mostly landed on the sturdy rattan sticks.

The Leviathan ape's control over the giant web was as flexible as an arm, and in the midst of flipping and twisting, it actually blocked most of the spells.

Even if there are one or two spells that manage to slip through the giant net and hit Leviathan, it's hard to cause any substantial damage.

The eighth-level monster's resistance to impact is vastly different from that of the Lionet branch, and for Lin Li, these spells can only serve to provoke the Leviathan Gorilla into a rage, causing it to smash coconuts even more fiercely.

Dozens of wind blades, dozens of ice cones, if it were another magician, they would have exhausted all their magic power long ago. Only Lin Li, with his severely distorted spiritual strength, could continue to persist in the coconut rain.

But even Lin Li felt somewhat desperate at this moment.
