84 - Roles Unveiled

"Did we really lose the pursuers that easily?" Jason asked, sounding surprised.

Ellie nodded, explaining, "Jason, those three trucks crashed into the sofas and vanished."

"We dropped quite a few more sofas after that, so the pursuers shouldn't be able to catch up now."

In Jason's past life, the pursuers were known for their power and resourcefulness. He never imagined a bunch of discarded sofas would make them give up the chase.

But Jason didn't know that the recently spawned pursuers were broke and had no abilities or resources to speak of.

And it wasn’t just two or three sofas that Jason had dropped, but a good twenty or thirty.

Many were even placed on speed boosters, so without any special tools, how could the pursuers possibly catch up to the RV?

Seeing the pursuers were gone, Jason told Ellie to keep two sofas for themselves and throw the rest away.

Synthesizing those sofas barely cost any Escape Coins anyway, so he wasn't worried about the loss.

With the pursuers gone, the atmosphere inside the RV relaxed considerably.

Following Jason's instructions, the women tossed out the remaining sofas and then idly chatted inside the RV.

Of course, they kept a close eye on the rear, ready to throw out more sofas if the pursuers returned.

Having just dropped a load of sofas, the women felt both excited and amused, and their relationships grew closer, leading to more open conversations.

Lily and the other two women who had just joined the RV crew were also starting to fit in.

Lily and Tiffany, in particular, had been worried about their lives in the RV.

But after talking to Kira and Ellie, they learned that Jason treated his women well.

They could see it from the state of Chloe and the others – Jason didn't abuse or mistreat them.

Plus, there was plenty of food and drink, and he helped them develop their strength.

As long as they didn't betray him or disrupt the harmony between the sisters, they could expect a good life in the RV.

As for Sophie, she already knew how good life in the RV was, thanks to Chloe.

With a simple heart and no bad intentions, she was happy just to stay with Jason and Chloe, and she got along well with the others.

The RV continued down the road, unimpeded, waiting for pursuer mode to end.

Jason drove, relieved that the pursuers hadn't reappeared, allowing the voices of the chatting women in the RV were light and laughter filled the interior.

Chloe, sitting in the passenger seat, glanced back, noticing that Ellie was bragging about her accuracy with a crossbow, saying that goblins would scatter in fear just at the sight of her.

Lily naturally didn't believe it and questioned Ellie, searching for flaws in her stories.

Their endless bickering led to plenty of jokes, and the other sisters egged them on, suggesting that they should hold a competition to test each other skills in a duel in marksmanship

Tiffany added that a simple shooting contest wouldn't be interesting enough and suggested adding other types of competition and excitement. That would make them even more happy, or, and it will be the referee's fault to settle that. This meant to witness and entertained for a time period with joy and relief.

Lily wasn't originally afraid of competing, but the topic and suggestions kept going in weird directions.

Ellie even suggested comparing Physique that evening, which was just too far to even begin the discuss on.

And with all the women watching and judging, she'd be too embarrassed, and her A-Rank strength would be exposed.

Lily immediately said that she was a newbie who hadn't trained her Physique, so she wouldn't participate in a competition she was sure to lose.

Sophie, sitting next to Jenna, covered her mouth and giggled, her face breaking into smiles after being amused by Ellie and Lily's conversation.

Seeing Sophie smile, Chloe felt relieved.

Sophie had been down ever since the killing, and Chloe had been worried.

But seeing Sophie now, it was clear the issue wasn't serious.

Then, Chloe smiled at Jason. "Hubby, looks like the sisters are getting along well."

Jason was focused on driving, wondering why the pursuers hadn't returned, and he hadn't really paid attention to the women's chatter.

Hearing Chloe say that the women were getting along, he listened more closely and nodded.

Whether overtly or privately, Jason didn't want infighting among the women.

In a crisis, any discord could lead to loss or even the group's destruction.

Jason didn't want to see that happen in his team.

Through this escape, Jason had also identified a few issues.

For instance, his driving was limiting himself.

He could entrust driving to the other women, freeing up his combat ability.

Besides, every team needed different roles, such as drivers, support staff, intelligence officers, cooks, medics, assistants, scouts, ranged attackers, and main fighters.

Jason's role was the owner, and he needed to be one of the main fighters; he couldn't always be the driver. He hadn't passed the driving responsibility to any of the women because he had been concerned the pursuers would catch the RV.

In the future, he would no longer continue being the driver. He had to select someone from among the women to drive.

Additionally, Chloe and Kira should be trained as main fighters, and being a driver wasn't a good fit for them.

Even Lily, with her combative nature, could be developed into a main fighter.

Ellie had a talent for shooting, making her the natural choice for the team's ranged attacker. In the future, when they acquired any ranged racing items, Ellie would be the one to use them.

In battles, Ellie could use crossbows for ranged attacks.

If he found any decent ranged weapons or shooting skills in the future, Ellie would get first dibs.

As for Jenna, she was undoubtedly the team's cook.

Any ingredients and food recipes he found would be given to Jenna.

That left Tiffany and Sophie, and Jason hadn't yet decided which direction to develop them in.

If Tiffany was good at driving, she could be the team's future driver. If not, she could be in charge of support, trading and buying items, managing intelligence, or even helping Jenna in the kitchen.

As the RV filled with people, the workload in the kitchen would definitely increase, and Jenna might not be able to handle it alone.

As for Sophie… she could develop as a medic. Any healing skills or potion recipes he found could be given to Sophie.

Overall, Jason's team needed more members.

The number of people in his RV couldn't compare to Joyce’s Feminism Cult.

Even with the addition of Joyce, he still didn't have the numbers.

Joyce’s Feminism Cult had thirty to forty female RV owners, over a hundred core members, and more than a thousand peripheral members.

Even David in his past life had thirty to forty women in his RV, along with a good number of RV owners under his command.

Of course, Jason's team would focus on quality over quantity, and he aimed to be stronger than those teams in quality.

As Jason drove, pondering how to develop and strengthen his team, the system notified him of a message from Joyce.

Jason opened the system to check and immediately changed his expression.

Joyce wanted to deal with the pursuers and asked if Jason could send a Shadow Doppelganger to support her.
