19、Dog's eye view
Bai Li obediently led the way to open the coffin and examine the body, after which Bai Liu Li had moved to the front hall of the living room, leaning on a chair that only the master of the house could sit on, drinking tea. Although she said that someone should go get evidence to prove that she was indeed Bai Liu Li, in reality there wasn't even a hint of unease about her, instead she seemed completely at ease. However, she didn't remove the veil from her head, otherwise the face wrapped in gauze would have made the servants around her feel a chill despite her leisurely tea-drinking demeanor.
At this moment, Bai Luli is stretching out her left hand to let a middle-aged doctor take her pulse. Bai Zhenzhu is standing beside her with a worried face, anxiously waiting for the doctor's diagnosis, which forms a great contrast with Bai Luli's calm movements.
"Doctor, is my sister's body all right?" The doctor had just barely let go of Bai Liuli's wrist when Bai Zhenzhu hastily asked, truly a good elder sister worried about her younger sister.
Just then, before the doctor could speak, a commotion broke out in the courtyard, causing Bai Zhenzhu to frown slightly.
All I could hear was the noise getting louder and louder——
"Big sister! I want to see Pearl big sister!"
"Where did this dirty woman come from! Who let her into the mansion!? Get her out of here quickly! Don't disturb Miss!"
"Let me go! Let me go quickly! You bunch of bastards dare to scold me and drive me away?! Do you know who I am?!"
"Go faster! Faster!" But inside is the lovely Luli sister! If they were to offend Luli sister, even with ten heads, it wouldn't be enough for her to twist off!
"Bastards! Just wait till I see Miss, I'll have her skin you all alive!"
"Get out of here, you crazy woman!"
"Ah! You shameless woman, how dare you bite someone?!"
Inside the hall, Bai Zhenzhu's face had already turned gloomy as she listened to the commotion in the courtyard. She coldly asked, "Who is making a ruckus in the courtyard?"
"Back to Miss Bai Zhenzhu, she is an unreasonable shrew, I don't know who brought her into the mansion..." The servant who came in to answer said cautiously, not because he was afraid of Bai Zhenzhu, but because he was afraid of Bai Liuli who sat beside Bai Zhenzhu with a silk hat covering his face.
"Isn't it going out quickly!?"
"Yes, Miss Pearl. I will have her thrown out immediately." The servant bowed his head and replied respectfully, but just as he was about to withdraw, he was stopped by Bai Luli's raised hand. "Wait."
"Let her in, I'd like to hear what this shrew has the nerve to come to the White Manor and make a ruckus about." Bai Luli shook the white ceramic teacup in her hand, took a sip of the tea, and said slowly, "Sister, aren't you interested in this bold person?"
"When did you become interested in such trivial matters?" White Pearl stared at the thin veil covering White Jade's face, as if trying to see through it and into her thoughts. Not to mention that her resurrection was a strange thing, but just from her behavior, she didn't seem like the real White Jade. Yet, she was indeed the genuine article, so had her own feelings gone awry?
The family servant was momentarily rooted to the spot, feeling a kind of bitter helplessness at being caught between two masters, wondering whose orders to follow.
"I'm not interested in trivial matters." Bai Liuli put the teacup on the tea table beside her, a smile in her voice. "However, I do have some interest in dogs that look down on people with their dog eyes and bark randomly."
"Don't stop her, let her in."
"Yes! Young Mistress!" The servant hastily responded and rushed out of the hall, still listening to the revived young mistress's orders, he didn't want to be punished.
Just as Jia Ding respectfully received the order and ran out of the house, Bai Zhenzhu secretly bit her lip, her fingers trembled, wanting to clench them into a fist but ultimately didn't.
In a moment, a woman with disheveled hair and a dirty skirt rushed into the hall, her face covered in dust. Her relatively clear eyes were filled with a frightened expression, and when she saw Bai Zhenzhu, she hastily rushed towards her. Bai Zhenzhu immediately took two steps back in disgust, while Bai Liuli watched with a smile.
"Miss! Pearl Miss! I'm Lan'er! I'm Lan'er!" The dirty woman was so excited to see White Pearl that she didn't notice the disgust in her eyes, and instead frantically brushed aside the hair covering her face to reveal her identity. Not only were the people around them shocked, but even White Pearl herself was stunned, seemingly unable to believe that this dirty, disheveled woman was actually her personal maid, Lan'er.
"Bang——" Just as Lan Er's excited voice fell, the response she got was a slap on the ear from Bai Zhenzhu, which made her stunned for a moment. She could only stare blankly at Bai Zhenzhu's serious face, and then heard Bai Zhenzhu sternly say, "This is the front hall of the White family! You are now in front of the young lady! You can't shout here, quickly retreat!"
Lan'er, who had been missing for three whole days, was suddenly found after all efforts to search for her were in vain. Could it be related to Bai Liuli?
"Big sister, big sister......?" Lan Er slowly raised her hand to cover her cheek that had been slapped, staring at the stern-looking Bai Zhenzhu with a puzzled expression, and muttered, "Isn't Big Sister you, Miss Pearl? Why did you hit me? I didn't do anything wrong..."
"How dare you talk back!" White Pearl heard Lan'er's words, and once again, she showed a completely different attitude from her usual gentle demeanor. She raised her palm to slap Lan'er, but no one stopped her. White Luli watched with a faint smile, just as White Pearl's palm was about to hit Lan'er's face, Lan'er suddenly grabbed White Pearl's arm and exclaimed in alarm, "Miss! You can't hit me! If you do, you'll summon the ghost of Sister Luli!"
That night, she just slapped the cheap Sandwood and brought the ghost of the big sister! She fainted after waking up and couldn't see anything, couldn't make a sound, and couldn't move! Only to hear the cries of mice around her, even mice crawling back and forth on her body! And her daily food was only a bowl of water! She didn't know how many days she had been in that ghostly place, she felt like she was going crazy! She didn't know who saved her, she just knew to find Miss Pearl as soon as possible, only by finding Miss Pearl could she be truly rescued!
"How dare you! Stop talking nonsense!" Bai Zhenzhu suddenly shouted loudly, exerting great force to try and pull her hand back, but the more she struggled, the tighter Lan'er gripped her arm, not giving her any chance to withdraw it.
Lan's words suddenly made everyone quiet, and they unanimously raised their eyes to glance at Bai Liuli, who was stirring the tea in his cup with a spoon.
"Lan'er isn't talking nonsense! Lan'er is telling the truth! Lan'er saw Miss Liusu with disheveled hair and a face full of scars, right outside the garden gate! It's terrifying!" Lan'er suddenly shouted out loud, as if she wanted to use this method to make Baozhu believe her words, everything she said was true, why didn't Miss believe her!?
"Lan'er, the ghost of the eldest sister you mentioned, is she dressed like this?" Just as Lan'er was explaining with a pale face, Bai Liuli covered the teacup and slowly stood up, her tone neither hot nor cold.
Lan's gaze suddenly shifted to Bai Liuli, then his pupils slowly rounded, and his body began to tremble slightly. Next, he saw Bai Liuli remove the veil from her head, using her fingertips to lift her short hair that reached her shoulders, smiling at Lan with a hint of mischief in her eyes, "Doesn't she look just like me?"
Suddenly, bursts of sobbing and sniffling sounds echoed in the hall.
Lan's face turned white as paper, her pupils dilated in terror to their largest size, and her body shook like a sieve. Then she let out a terrified scream: "Ghost... ghost ah!!"
