Chapter 30: The Forest Rescue

Volume 1: Peaceful Childhood Chapter 30: Rescue in the Woods

Lying in the garden swing, she thought to herself that she hadn't observed her surroundings yet, like a sea god's consciousness spreading out and extending along the clouds. Suddenly, a playful smile curled up at the corner of her mouth, as if she had discovered something interesting. Perhaps, her plan could begin to be carried out now.

On the mountain waist, in the pitch-black forest, several dazzling knife lights cut through the forest's tranquility. The old man with tattered clothes had deep gashes on his body, and fresh blood stained the torn cloth strips, yet he was still desperately running towards the depths of the forest, holding a pair of pale small hands tightly in his own.

"Han Bo, you... put me down and run first, take... taking me with you... you'll also be caught by the people behind." The young man said this sentence in a laborious tone, panting heavily as he ran rapidly. Looking at the somewhat staggering figure before him, his eyes became moist, and suddenly the gloomy forest didn't seem so frightening anymore.

Leng Han was his mother's personal bodyguard, protecting her since she was a child. His father treated him and his mother well on the surface, but he knew his father didn't like his mother, or him for that matter, and there must be some ulterior motive behind his kindness. He had never told anyone, but he could sense whether someone's intentions were genuine or not, and whether their words were true. So from birth, he had always followed Leng Han, who was the only one he felt truly cared about him. Leng Han also took on a fatherly role, teaching him martial arts. However, due to his innate physical limitations, no matter how hard he trained, he couldn't cultivate even a hint of internal energy, so he could only focus on practicing external skills to strengthen his body.

The cold and unfeeling youth's words were just a loud shout, as he pushed the young boy in his hands forward with great force, while carefully paying attention to the surroundings. Suddenly, he used all his strength to push the young boy forward once more, shouting loudly:

  "Run quickly."

Stop and turn around, tightly grasping the sword in hand. It turned out that behind him, a row of black-clad men had appeared at some point, their sharp blades flashing with cold light in the darkness.

"Hurry up and run!" Seeing that the young man was still standing there, Leng Han let out another loud roar, then charged forward with his sword, rushing towards the black-clothed man.

Swords and swords clashed, sparks flying everywhere. The cold hand holding the sword swung out a residual shadow, but his martial arts were high, yet he couldn't withstand the opponent's numerous people, and the opponent was also using a life-or-death fighting method, with every move pointing to the vital parts. In an instant, two black-clothed men broke through his defense line and approached the young man.

At this, the young man also gripped his long sword tightly, vigilantly guarding against the approach of the two men. As they approached him, he swung his sword at them. However, he was too young and the force of the clashing swords sent him tumbling to the ground. A black-clad figure stepped forward, his knife slashing towards the young man's neck.

With a "ding" sound, amidst the sparks, a starlight flashed on the knife, and it flew far away in an instant.

"What are you doing?" A soft and melodious voice like a nightingale's rose, seemingly filled with thick doubt, yet her face remained calm and serene. The group of people looked towards the direction of the sound in unison, only to see the moonlight filtering through the gaps in the trees, shining down sporadically. Under the moonlight, a small white figure hung from a tree.

Yun Lian felt somewhat unhappy, a good play hadn't started for long and she had to interrupt it. The movements of those black-clothed men were too fast, if she didn't speak up, this young man would have lost his life, after waiting so hard for someone like him, she couldn't just let him be played to death.

The darkness didn't hinder her vision, and she looked at the young man with great interest. The white clothes had exquisite flower patterns embroidered on them, which showed that he was not an ordinary person, but now he was very disheveled. His whole body was covered in mud, his clothes were torn, and the knife wound on his arm kept oozing out bright red blood, and there were also many scratches on his face. But what was most unique was his silver hair that reached his waist and his grayish-silver pupils.

In the darkness, he vaguely saw that flowing black hair, and a sense of anxiety arose in the young man's heart, as if he had seen again the scene of his lively and lovely younger sister falling down in front of him in a pool of blood.

"Little sister, run quickly, it's dangerous here." In his haste, the young man's voice changed tone, and his gentle voice became sharp.

After hearing the young man's words, Yun Qingyan only slightly raised an eyebrow. Leng Han, on the other hand, looked at her with vigilance, even though his attention was focused on the fight. A girl of only three or four years old could quietly approach them without being detected, which meant that she, or more accurately, the person behind her, was not simple. Relying on her might allow him to escape today's calamity, but it also might bring even greater danger.

"What's so dangerous here?" Yun Qingran's mischievous streak suddenly struck, teasing the innocent youth in front of him.

"These people in black clothes are bad guys, they will kill you." Although he didn't know why these black-clothed men had stopped, he was still afraid that they would hurt her.

"Are you talking about them?" As soon as the words fell, she saw her lightly wave her hand, and the black-clothed man closest to him suddenly crashed into a distant tree, slid down and spat out a big mouthful of blood, and didn't move again.

The young man's eyes widened in shock and he couldn't speak, taking advantage of the black-clad man's momentary stunned state, Yun Qingran quickly broke through the encirclement and hugged the young man close.

"Please, senior, lend a hand and save me. I, Leng Han, am willing to be your servant and repay the kindness of saving my life." Leng Han bowed respectfully towards Yun Qing Ran.

"Alright, I'll take you away then. He can stay behind." Yun Qingyan pointed at the youth from afar, gazing at Leng Han with a hint of a smile that was not quite a smile. Her purpose for coming here was for this youth, and he was just an extra; how could she let him take this youth away so cleanly?

"Cold and silent for a moment, he opened his mouth again: 'So how can the senior come to the rescue?' Hopefully it's not something that Miss has to give to Young Master."

"I want you to acknowledge me as your master."

"This is something I cannot answer on behalf of the young master." The response was unexpected by Leng Han, who did not respond but instead looked at the youth beside him. However, he hoped that the youth would be able to respond, and judging from how formidable this little girl was at such a young age, the future prospects of the young master would be even better. Moreover, whether they could survive today depended on the responses of these two people.

With a cold and stern gaze, the youth's eyes were crystal clear, his answer without any hesitation. "Alright, I agree."

Several men in black had begun to retreat when Yun Qingyan first answered, but their movements were very slow, as if they were still watching for a chance to make a move. It wasn't until the young man answered that they quickly left, but it was too late.

Yun Qingran raised his right hand, and a group of black-clad men suddenly stopped in their tracks, falling straight to the ground without any injuries, except for a small red dot on their foreheads.

Leng Han and that young man saw a group of black-clad men fall down so easily, they were all stunned, and then they also lost consciousness together.

Yun Qingran tapped the sleep acupoints of the two people, and after confirming that they had both fallen asleep, she put them into her spatial ring. Then, she sprinkled some powder on the black-clothed person on the ground before floating towards Yunfu, leaving behind only a few faint water marks in the forest.
