This is exactly what I was hoping for and I have a plan already prepared. I charge the lead angel and take a swing at her with my sword, but she parries it. However, that is exactly what I wanted her to do as I use my sword to launch a Lightning Wave.

  Lightning Wave is normally a large cone projected from my sword, but the tunnel isn't that big. As a result, the tunnel is completely filled with lightning for a few painful seconds. The six-wing is the only one who survives the Lightning Wave, but a follow-up attack finishes her.

  Another named archangel, which means this is probably also one of Holos' lieutenants. That means it is highly likely that Holos will come himself, so I need to get moving. I quickly take the core, armor, and sword from the archangel and stuff them in my pouch.

  Then, as I am gathering the cores from the other angels, I prepare to cast the gate. There is no way I am sticking around now, I have already pushed my luck too much. Staying any longer would just be stupid and I am not stupid, despite what some people say.

  I quickly gather the rest of the cores, immediately open the gate, and close it as soon as I am through. I did not gate back to the fort, instead I gated to the main continent, just in case Holos can track me. Then, I gate several more times until I end up in the southern empire and am out of mana.

  Then I find a safe looking spot to sit down and start meditating to recover my mana. I open up a soulscape, invite Krenocia and then sit and wait for her to arrive.

  Krenocia appears and says "Ash! I am glad that you are safe! I was really worried! Why were you gone for so long?!"

  "Because the raid went well, but I have an important question to ask you. If a soul is killed in a god's domain, what happens to it?"

  Krenocia says "It is sent to be reincarnated."

  "Oh, good! That is a relief!"

  Krenocia says "I take it that you killed a lot of souls while you were there?"

  "Hundreds of them and a lot of angels too."

  Krenocia says "That's surprising! I expected Holos to chase you out pretty quickly!"

  "Honestly, so did I. Especially after I killed the first of his lieutenants, but I never actually saw him."

  Krenocia says "You killed one of his lieutenants and he still didn't show up? That's really strange! Wait, if you didn't get chased out by Holos, why did you leave?"

  "I figured he was definitely going to show up since I killed a second of his lieutenants and I wasn't going to push my luck."

  Krenocia says "You killed two of his lieutenants?! Wait, so you got two six-wing cores?!"

  "Yes, I did. One I will be keeping for creating my own angel, the other will be given to either you or Seronia."

  Krenocia says "Send it and any others to my sister. She is far more qualified to raise a bunch of angels. If any of them turn out to be misfits, I will take them from her."

  "Alright. Maybe this will help appease her anger towards me. Oh, since you mentioned it, how are angels raised?"

  Krenocia says "It might, but I doubt it. There are a number of ways that angels can gain power. They grow stronger as they age, they can be fed the faith from worshipers, they can consume the cores of evil beings, or they can gain power through combat."

  "So, they gain levels like humans? What kind of things count as evil beings?"

  Krenocia says "Yes, but they are a lot slower. An angel needs about three times the experience that a human would. As for evil beings, mostly cores from undead and demonic beings would help an angel grow."

  "Would cores from demonic beasts count?"

  Krenocia says "Yes, but it would take a lot more since demonic beasts are weaker. Why so many questions?"

  "Because I want to make preparations for when I have an angel of my own. I need to be able to power it up to six-winged at least before I face the demon lords."

  Krenocia says "Ah! That makes sense. Having a six-winged angel on your side would certainly be helpful against them. Alright, any other questions?"

  "This silver that is used for a lot of angel's equipment, what can you tell me about it?"

  Krenocia says "It is most commonly called either Astral or Celestial Silver. It is the most common material to be found in the higher planes. It is extremely durable and resonates well with divine power. Most gods create it and use it to equip their forces. I take it that you found some in Holos' domain?"

  "Yeah, I found quite a bit. He was making the human souls mine it for him."

  Krenocia says "Mine it for him? What do you mean?"

  "There was a mountain in his domain with ore inside a tunnel. The human souls would mine it from the tunnel and gather it. I take it that that is not normal?"

  Krenocia says "Absolutely not! The ore is created and handed directly to the crafters. Why would anyone bother to make souls mine it?!"

  "At the center of the mountain was a statue of Holos that was made out of ore. My guess is that the souls had to pray to the statue in order to replenish the ore."

  Krenocia says "That's despicable! To force souls to pray is disgusting! Now I really hope that his pantheon kills Holos slowly!"

  "That's pretty much how I was thinking. Uh oh!"

  Krenocia says "What? Is something wrong?"

  "A pillar of light just appeared next to me. It looks like I am about to have some company. We will have to continue our chat later."

  Krenocia says "Alright. Stay safe."

  Krenocia gives me a quick kiss and then leaves so that I can end the soulscape. Honestly, I am not too worried, it is probably one of Strassi' angels. She probably wants to know why I appeared out in the middle of nowhere.

  However, the white pillar lasts a lot longer than I was expecting it to. I have never seen it take this long for an angel to manifest, don't tell me that it is an avatar! I shouldn't have done anything recently to warrant the attention of an avatar.

  At least, not that anyone should know about, unless someone somehow knows about my raid. Wait, could it be Holos coming after me himself? If so, I can't wait! I will happily tear his avatar apart and steal a portion of his power for the goddesses!

  Unfortunately, what eventually shows up is not Holos' avatar, it is not an avatar at all. It is an angel, an eight-winged angel that I have met before. Although, I have no idea why Mythica herself would come to see me.
