Iono closes her Rotom phone with a sigh, ying on her bed once more she turns her eyes back to the screen, showing the stream.

“At least he's getting popur?...”
She really wishes she could do more, but there isn't much the Paldean gym leader could do.
As she ponders, two thoughts run through her head, both somehow equally as important to her.
“How is the League handling this?”
And…
“I really want a White Horse… grrr!!! Those Garians are so lucky!!!”
Somewhere in the world, a trainer who just caught a Gar variant Ponyta just felt a chill run down their back.

Steven Stone has his hands folded, elbows resting on the table as he and the rest of the table watch a pyback of the stream.
There's a noticeable tension in the air, as several members of his “council” (more consultants and other important members of Hoenn's government) pale at the screen.
The screen shows a man with dark hair and golden eyes, pulling out a strange weapon that, ironically enough, is named after the attack it seems to be based on.
They watch as the… thing, the horrid creature, slowly turns to ash as it's shrieks of pain come through the speakers.
After the… thing is dead, Steven pauses the video and looks at the others.
“Need I say more?”
“Mr. Stone… what was that?”
He can tell that the others at the table are thinking the same, with the exception of some of gym leaders, maybe they watched the stream?
“That…” Steven rewinds the video and pauses at the cleanest footage he could find of it.
“Is what Mr. Abrams calls a ‘demon’”
No one seemed to react to the word, he didn't understand too at first, so he understands their confusion.
“I had Metagross run the term through our records, and while it isn't much, a few vilges and small towns use the term to describe inherently malicious entities that harm and manipute humans…”
That got a reaction.
“Are they real?”
Steven shakes his head.
“As far as I can tell… no. Demons don't exist here…” He points to the stream. “But there? They seem to very much exist”
One of the older members speaks up.
“And what are we going to do? This… Joshua Abrams isn't even in our universe, dimension, whatever it is! How are we supposed to help him?”
Steven can feel his chest tighten, he's had those exact questions, but as champion he has some… ideas.
He's been getting reports of the Aether Foundation developing… interesting technology. But he doubts that the Alon ruling bodies wouldn't like it if he stuck his nose into their business.
But…
“I have a pn. Whether it will work or not, I do not know. But I can think of little else that can cross dimensional boundaries as well as them, if they py nice, Joshua will be safe by the end of the week”
At that moment, he feels his phone ringing. Taking a moment to gnce at everyone, he pulls it out.
“Who are you meeting with?” One of the gym members asked.
Steven looks at the incoming call, a pang of nervousness is quickly drowned by raw determination to see this through.
“Palkia”
[INCOMING CALL: CYNTHIA]

A pure white Dove, made out of soft pale but regal light, nds on a branch and turns its steady gaze towards the decayed bird that perches on a tree just outside Joshua's base.
A deathly haze surrounds the bird, a gale of hate, pride, and envy, invisible to the naked eye.
“Have you come to mock me, Paraclete?”
A garbled mess of broken words, almost a wail, and simultaneously a scream of rage.
Despite that, the Dove shakes its head.
“[]”
Soft unintelligible words, spoken all at once, and not at all. It carries a tone of infinite patience, yet infinite righteousness.
“The King's Pact is slipping here, Solomon was a fool to think he could restrain us. It is only a matter of time before your host falls, will of the Lamb”
“[]”
The decayed bird chuckles, though the noise is more simir to gasses leaving a corpse.
“Is that what you think?”
The Dove just smiles.
The demon scowls.
“Do you think that just because he can read out of a fucking book that he won't be torn apart by our army like the rest? He got lucky, but he'll need to be lucky every single day. We just have to be lucky once. Just give up”
The Dove tilts its head, adapting to the body nguage of the form it's in. It certainly doesn't mind.
“What? Got nothing to say? Finally realized how pointless all this i-”
The bird vanishes, instantly burning to ash.
The Dove knows better.
You don't let a demon speak for too long.
