The Twenty-Seventh Patriarch of Buddhism Preaches and Bestows Treasures
When Hou Yi returned to the cave with Kun Peng, he met Wu Dao, Kun Peng's eldest disciple. Wu Dao was practicing "Wu Yao Bu Si Shen" and every day he would dance his "Star Moon Divine Needle" in the cave. Seeing Hou Yi had a strong physique, and knowing he was his teacher's new junior brother, he was overjoyed. It turned out that Wu Dao was the Liuer Mihou of the four great spiritual monkeys, born with boundless strength, but practicing alone every day was quite dull. Now that Hou Yi had arrived, and also practiced physical cultivation, Wu Dao immediately pulled him into a fight.
Hou Yi, as a great shaman, compared to Wu Dao, liked fighting even more, but after being with Chang'e for a long time, he had lost many of his impulsive tendencies. Now seeing Wu Dao's exceptional abilities and robust physique, he was delighted, and the two were only happy to fight each other. However, Hou Yi was already in the late stages of becoming an immortal, while Wu Dao was only in the early stages, so how could he be Hou Yi's match? Often after dozens of rounds, he would be beaten down by Hou Yi, but fortunately, Wu Dao's "Undying Body" had already made some progress, so there was no need to worry about getting hurt. However, Hou Yi would repeatedly exclaim that it wasn't enough, only making Wu Dao feel extremely embarrassed, thinking to himself, "Where did Master find such a formidable master, causing me to lose face completely?" But in his heart, he also secretly made up his mind to intensify his training from now on.
Kunpeng thought it was funny and thought to himself that if he were to engage in close combat, among the Wu tribe, apart from the twelve ancestral witches, it would be Hou Yi and Xing Tian, the two great witches. Let Wudao suffer a bit, anyway, they won't get hurt. However, what Kunpeng didn't expect was that after Wudao fought with Hou Yi several times, he followed Hou Yi every day like a follower, completely forgetting that he was actually the senior brother. Kunpeng shook his head repeatedly, but he also liked Wudao's straightforwardness.
Time flies, and a hundred years have passed in the blink of an eye. In these hundred years, Kunpeng has condensed a strand of yuanqi with his accumulated merits, which cost one-tenth of the merits he obtained from transcending the spirits of the dead. If he wants to cultivate a complete yuanqi, all these merits must be added together to have a possible chance.
For the past hundred years, Wu Dao has been fighting with Hou Yi every day, and he has benefited greatly from it. His progress is far higher than when he was practicing alone, and his current cultivation has already reached the level of a late-stage Golden Immortal. The "Witch's Undying Body" has also made small achievements, and can support several thousand moves without being defeated, which is quite rare. Hou Yi, on the other hand, has also benefited greatly from fighting with Wu Dao over the past thousand years. His abilities have risen to the peak of a late-stage Golden Immortal, and he only needs an opportunity to enter the Quasi-Saint realm. However, as a member of the Witch clan, his Yuan Shen is weak and small, so he can only become a Ancestor Witch. Kun Peng looked at the two with eyes full of praise, nodding repeatedly, making them feel proud.
Kunpeng saw that the two of them were both elegant and refreshing, feeling deeply moved. He thought to himself that he had originally only sought to become a saint in the peaceful land of Honghuang, but who would have known that his fate would be one thing after another, leading him to today's situation? From now on, wanting to withdraw from this path would probably be difficult. However, these two disciples under his gate were both extraordinary and would be the foundation for his future in Honghuang!
Kunpeng said to Hou Yi, "In the past hundred years, I have only refined a strand of yuan Shen for you, but did not teach you any skills. Today, I will pass on this 'Wu Yao Bu Si Shen' to you, so that you can have an extra chance of survival in the impending great disaster."
Kun Peng said, and then he imparted the secret method of 'Wu Yao's Immortal Body' to Hou Yi. Then he said to him: "For the parts you don't understand about your skills, you can ask your senior brother Wudao for help, as he has been cultivating earlier than you and can resolve your confusion. I see that you are skilled in using the longbow, but unfortunately, I don't have any spiritual treasures like bows and arrows. However, I can impart to you the way of the bow and arrow. After mastering this technique, you may have the opportunity to open the 'Pangu Bow'. This method of the bow and arrow is the same as cultivating spiritual treasures, which is divided into four stages. The primary stage is mainly based on one's own physical abilities, using the eyes to control and manipulate spiritual treasures; the intermediate stage is mainly based on spiritual treasures, where man and treasure are united, and the person becomes one with the spiritual treasure, moving in accordance with its power; the advanced stage is mainly based on human power, where man and treasure are united, using one's own strength to control and manipulate spiritual treasures, bringing out their maximum power; the final stage is where all things in heaven and earth become spiritual treasures, understanding the power of the laws between heaven and earth, borrowing the power of the laws of heaven and earth to control and manipulate spiritual treasures. At this stage, it doesn't matter whether you have a spiritual treasure or not."
Hou Yi asked: "I don't know what state the teacher has reached?"
Kunpeng said: "As a teacher, the natural talent has a limit, and it is difficult to reach the initial stage of the final stage. Relying on all the innate spiritual treasures, I can barely borrow a thread of the water law. However, your witch tribe has extremely high natural talent, but you don't know how to cultivate, only relying on your innate talent to fight, it's hard to become a great atmosphere."
Hou Yi's face was filled with expectation as he said: "Teacher, could you elaborate on that?"
Wu Dao and Chang'e also looked at Kun Peng with full of expectation, hoping that Kun Peng could give them a detailed explanation.
"Alright, I'll explain it to you. The twelve Ancestral Shamans are the incarnations of Pangu's bloodline, each mastering a different Heavenly Law. However, they don't know this themselves and only fight based on their instincts. Among the twelve Ancestral Shamans, the two most powerful ones are Emperor Jiang and Zhuo Jiu Yin. This isn't because their physical bodies are particularly strong, but rather due to the power of the Laws they possess. Emperor Jiang masters the Law of Space, while Zhuo Jiu Yin masters the Law of Time. These two Laws are also known as the Anti-Heavenly Laws, and are considered the most powerful among all Laws. Even the current Saints don't possess these two Laws.
Zhurong masters the Law of Fire, making him the Ancestral Shaman with the strongest attacking power; Xie Cang masters the Law of Metal, his attacks being the sharpest among the Shamans; Jumang masters the Law of Wood, possessing a strong life force; Hou Tu masters the Law of Earth, having the highest defense among the twelve Ancestral Shamans; Gonggong masters the Law of Water, with boundless vitality; Shebi Xi masters the Law of Air, able to control changes in the weather; Tianwu masters the Law of Wind, his speed second only to Emperor Jiang's among the twelve Ancestral Shamans; Qiangliang masters the Law of Thunder, but unfortunately, he hasn't grasped Pangu's 'Universal Heavenly Thunder' used during the creation of the world. If he had, he would be the strongest among the twelve Ancestral Shamans.
Tongzi masters the Law of Lightning, which is a branch of the Law of Thunder; and Xuanying masters the Law of Rain, which is a branch of the Law of Water."
Wu Dao listened to Kun Peng's words and couldn't help but ask: "Master, do you know what principles all the saints have grasped?"
Kun Peng said: "As for the teacher, I only know that the Saintess Nüwa of the demon tribe has mastered the law of creation. Her creation of human beings is a manifestation of this law. As for the other saints, I don't know what laws they have mastered. But why do you ask these questions? This law is not something that your Golden Immortal cultivation can grasp. Only quasi-saints may be able to comprehend a thread of the law, but it's not absolute. Some quasi-saints may not be able to comprehend even a thread of the law's power in their entire lifetime."
"Hou Yi asked: 'Teacher, can the power of the law resist the might of a saint?'"
Kunpeng said: "If you can fully comprehend the power of a law, then you are only one step away from becoming a saint. Although it's not necessarily possible to confront a saint head-on, escaping is still not a problem. If you can fully comprehend either the law of time or space, even saints can fight with you. However, these two laws are too against heaven, and ordinary people can't even touch their doors, let alone fully comprehend them."
"Master, does a person also attain enlightenment by understanding many principles?"
Kunpeng looked at Wudao and said, "It's possible, but the power of the law is extremely difficult to comprehend. You may spend your whole life studying one law, but you may not necessarily fully understand it. What about multiple laws? If you ever master the power of the law, I hope you will focus on one law and never be greedy."
Kunpeng paused for a moment, then said: "Actually, the bloodline of the Wu tribe is the most suitable for cultivating the power of the law. What you gain must be lost, and the only pity is that the Wu tribe does not have a yuan god, it is difficult to grasp the power of the law. This may be the balance of the heavenly way."
Hou Yi heard Kun Peng's words and also felt sorry for the Wu tribe. However, he asked again: "Master, can Chang'e follow you to cultivate for the human race?"
Kun Peng said, "Alright, but she can't cultivate the 'Undying Witch Body' with you. It's better for her to follow me and cultivate the Hong Jun Great Dao, taking the path of beheading the three corpses to achieve enlightenment. Now that the great calamity is about to arrive, all of you are in the midst of it. In order to give you the power to protect yourselves, I will give you a few pre-heavenly spiritual treasures that I have collected over the years for your protection."
Wu Dao, Hou Yi and Chang'e hastily said: "Thank you, teacher."
Kunpeng said, "Wudao, you are the eldest disciple of the master. The master has given you several spiritual treasures before, and this time he won't give you any more. After the great calamity is over, return to the North Ming Cave Mansion where the master resides, and the master will bestow upon you a pre-heavenly spiritual treasure."
Wu Dao currently has three congenital spiritual treasures and one acquired spiritual treasure on his body, which is sufficient for self-defense, so he nodded in agreement, with not a hint of dissatisfaction in his heart.
Kun Peng said to Hou Yi, "Among the three of you, only you have a fatal calamity. Whether you can pass it depends on heaven's will. You are the great shaman of the Houtu tribe, your body belongs to earth. I'll give you the pre-heavenly spiritual treasure 'Dusshan Duo' to protect yourself. This is a rare pre-heavenly spiritual treasure with earth attributes, although it's only mid-grade, but it can compare to top-grade pre-heavenly spiritual treasures. You can refine it into your primordial spirit, when the fatal calamity comes, you can hide your primordial spirit in 'Dusshan Duo' and sink into the earth, maybe you can avoid this fatal calamity."
Kun Peng said and took out the 'Drive Mountain Bell' to give to Hou Yi, Hou Yi took over the spiritual treasure and thanked Kun Peng in a hurry, then retreated to refine the spiritual treasure.
Kunpeng said to Chang'e, "Among the three of you, your cultivation is the lowest, but since you are a human, this great calamity does not pose too much of a threat to you. To be on the safe side, I will give you the pre-heavenly spiritual treasure 'Sun and Moon Essence Wheel'. This treasure is an extreme-grade pre-heavenly spiritual treasure that can both attack and defend. The Sun Essence Wheel can use the true fire of the sun to protect your body and defend against attacks, while the Moon Essence Wheel can use the yin energy of the moon to launch unpredictable attacks."
Chang'e never thought that Kunpeng would give herself such a powerful congenital spiritual treasure, and for a moment she was stunned on the spot. Fortunately, Hou Yi awakened her, and she stepped forward to say: "Disciple thanks teacher for giving treasure, just now let teacher see laugh."
"Chang'e, you're a beginner in using the Pre-Heaven Spirit Treasure, so it's normal to have such an expression. But remember, the path of cultivation is against the heavens, and only by having strong personal cultivation can one attain enlightenment. The Pre-Heaven Spirit Treasure may be good, but don't rely on it too much, do you understand?"
Chang'e said: "I understand."
Kun Peng said: "You can understand it's fine, you all go down, early refining the spiritual treasure is also good to have self-protection power."
