  Max sniffled and cried to himself, before Zack showed up. His blond friend sat next to him. "We'll get him back."

  "I just have faith, Max." Zack replied calmly. "We won't give up hope yet."

  "That thing in there isn't Matthew and you know it." Shadow chimed in. He decided to sit with them on the log. "I believe he's still in there underneath...."

  Max growled. "No he's not! He's gone!"

  Shadow tilted his head at Max. "I didn't believe that when you turned into a zombie and tried to kill me!"

  Max gave him a shocked look. "What the hell, Shadow? We all agreed not to talk about that!"

  "Well, now we don't have a choice." Shadow said. Max grumbled.

  Shadow gave him a pat on the back and left them. Zack decided to get up and take a walk, Max followed after him.

  Suddenly, Max found himself venting. "Why did this happen? First it was Ben, now it's Matthew! Why is this happening to me?"
