49 Demon Army

  49 Ghost Troops

"What's next?" Chen Zhou asked as soon as he came in, glancing at the zombie lying on the ground with its eyes wide open and motionless.

"Do whatever you want, just don't touch the talisman." Du Sulin shrugged and pointed to the talisman printed on the zombie's forehead.

"Alright." Chen Zhou nodded and whispered a few words to the two police officers behind him. The two officers, wearing medical rubber gloves, carried the zombie to one side.

"Get me her autopsy report." Du Sulin said to Chen Zhouyuan again.

"Alright, wait a minute. Xiaozi——” This last "Xiaozi" was naturally not addressed to Du Siling and Fang Feng. Chen Zhouyuan beckoned with his hand, and a short, dark-skinned policeman appeared out of nowhere, looking quite like a mouse at first glance.

Chen Zhou Yun whispered a few words into Haozi's ear, and Haozi nodded repeatedly before running off in a flash.

"Tai Guang, Fang Feng, I have something to say to you all." Chen Zhou's tone was serious, not showing any relief at the zombies being resolved.

Du Sulin nodded and followed Chen Zhouyuan into an office.

"Tai Guang, the government wants you to come forward." Chen Zhou Yun was straightforward.

"What does it mean?" Du Siling and Fang Feng looked at each other and asked.

"You also saw what happened tonight, actually this is not the first paranormal case encountered by the police. The government has been discussing whether to establish a special task force specifically for solving such paranormal cases. Just like earlier, if the police had such personnel, they wouldn't be at a loss. So the government wants you to train a special task force." Chen Zhou explained.

"Why me? And why are you the one to say it?" Du Sulin looked at Chen Zhouyuan, an intelligence officer, and couldn't understand why he would intervene at this level.

"My father was one of the people who supported the establishment of a special task force. He knew about the Du family's abilities and also knew that I and Siyan were good friends, so he handed this task over to me." Chen Zhou Yun felt very helpless, originally he had known Du Si Lin's older brother for so long, and hadn't been shy in front of Du Si Lin and Fang Feng, yet she was completely unaware of her own family background.

"Oh..." Du Sulin nodded thoughtfully, then said, "Invite someone else instead, I'm not interested in this special task force."

"Taiguang, don't rush to give me an answer, think carefully." Chen Zhou Yun seemed to have known that Du Siling would reject him outright, so he didn't appear very disappointed.

  "Knock knock knock"

  "Come in!" Chen Zhouyuan said.

The door opened, and the mouse that had just been seen appeared again. A pair of green bean-sized rat eyes scanned over Du Shilin and Fang Feng's bodies, with two women following behind him. One of them was surprisingly the pedestrian who had scolded Du Shilin and the others in the park at night!

After Haozi's task was completed, he retreated and stood slightly forward. There was an older woman who nodded to Chen Zhouxuan after indicating with her eyes, which also swept past Dusi Lin and Fangfeng's body just like Haozi's.

Dou Sulin took over the report handed over by the "passerby" woman standing behind the older woman, glanced through it roughly and then handed it to Fang Feng.

"What should I call you?" Du Sulin stood up and asked the older woman. Apparently, among these two women, she was the professor-level figure. And the one behind her was probably the newly arrived intern forensic doctor.

"Li Xin." The female forensic doctor said, extending her hand to shake hands with Du Siling. It has to be said that after spending some time with Xiao Qingzhu, even Du Siling, a wooden head, learned a bit of social skills. Of course, only the most basic ones.

"Dr. Li, can you guarantee the accuracy of the autopsy report?" Du Silin asked.

Li Xing pushed her glasses and said, "The autopsy report is absolutely no problem." She was firm.

Du Sulin smiled, it seemed that Li Xin, the forensic doctor, was a very decisive person. At least in her results, she was very confident. Indeed, within Du Sulin's knowledge range, Li Xin's report had no problems. In areas beyond Du Sulin's knowledge, whether there were any issues or not, she couldn't tell, after all, Du Sulin wasn't an expert.

The autopsy report roughly stated that the deceased was a 30-year-old female, and the preliminary estimated time of death was three days ago, with drowning as the cause. The supplementary information included a suspected bite wound from an unknown animal on the neck, and blood loss exceeding 70% in the body.

"Master Taiguang, can...can you answer a question for me?" Just as Duslin was admiring Li Xin's decisiveness in his heart, she hesitated and said.

"Sit down and talk." Du Sulin made a gesture of invitation.

Li Xin and "passerby" forensic doctor nodded, smiled and sat down, and also nodded at Fang Feng when sitting down.

"Is the deceased... really a zombie?" Li Xin asked.

"Strictly speaking, no." Du Siling thought for a moment before responding. She didn't dodge these topics, the talk of ghosts and spirits, the mind's then spirit, she couldn't help but not believe it either. She was just telling the truth. "She is just a walking corpse." Or in other words, a mobile corpse?

"Unbelievable, too unbelievable... " Li Xin shook her head in incredulity, this went against the atheism she had adhered to for decades, but when faced with the facts, she couldn't help but acknowledge them.

"It's settled then. We should get going." Du Sulin stood up and turned to look at Chen Zhouyuan, while Li Xin was still immersed in the shock.

"Tai Guang, what I just said to you, I hope you can consider." Chen Zhou said solemnly.

"Hmm." Duslin responded with a single sound and went out first.

"Tai Guang, I think his words are worth considering. After all, two fists can't defeat four hands. The number of low-level zombies we know is countless, and with just a few of us, we can't possibly take on that many. Having a special task force would at least alleviate some of our burden."

After walking out of the office, Fang Feng whispered to Du Si Lin.

"Wait, you two!" Just then, a familiar voice sounded from behind.

Turning around, it was the forensic doctor who had just scolded the two "bystanders".

"Is there anything else?" Feng asked.

"About what happened last night, I think I misunderstood you both. I apologize to you!" As she spoke, she bowed deeply to the two of them.

"It's nothing, we didn't take it to heart." Fang Feng waved his hand magnanimously, and Du Siling didn't need to say anything more, she had already forgotten the appearance of the person in front of her.

"That's great, I'm Zhou Bingqian, nice to meet you." Zhou Bingqian smiled sweetly.

"Our names, you should know by now, so I won't say it," Fengfeng said, "It's late, we'll have a chance to talk again." She smiled apologetically.

"Alright, alright, goodbye!" Zhou Bingqian hastily said.

After turning around, Du Sulin's eyes swept across Zhou Bingqian's body with a residual glance, but didn't linger.

They walked around on the street for a while as they couldn't hail a taxi after leaving the police station.

"There is a special team that can help us, but if we start with adults, unless they are exceptionally talented, they will only be able to withstand the black zombies for a short time. If they encounter higher-level zombies, they will be easily killed. I don't want innocent people to die. Moreover, if we spread the Taoist techniques, it's hard to guarantee that there won't be people with ulterior motives who will harm not just humans but also ghosts." Du Siling shared her thoughts with Fang Feng, "I know the principle of two fists being unable to defeat four hands, but Chen Zhou Yun's suggestion gave me an epiphany. We can't use people, but we can use ghosts."

"What's with the ghost? How did you say it?" Fengfeng asked curiously.

"There are so many lonely souls and wild ghosts, making a puppet for them gives them a temporary place to attach themselves. People can be killed, but ghosts cannot be killed. At least, nothing below the Red Corpse can make them disappear into thin air. Then we will have an army of ghosts that cannot be killed." Du Sulin said slowly.

"The ghost army battles the zombie troops. Fortunately, you didn't think of the pea shooter." Fengfeng joked, but after careful consideration, Du Sulin's method was a good one. No wonder she had refused Chen Zhouyuan so decisively just now.

"I also wanted to plant Peashooters, but I didn't have time to wait for the sun to accumulate a hundred." Du Siling replied.

"By the way, have you ever felt that Zhou Bingqian..." Fang Feng suddenly said.

"What's wrong with her?" Du Sulin raised an eyebrow, apparently she wasn't the only one who felt something was off.

"I've always felt that she's not just an ordinary person, it's just a simple intuition. Maybe it's because too many things have happened recently and I'm a bit nervous." Before long, Fang Feng waved her hand, she really couldn't describe what kind of feeling Zhou Bingqian gave her.

"I also feel that something is off about her, but I just can't put my finger on it." Du Sulin said, furrowing his brow as he thought back to his earlier encounter with Zhou Bingqian, ultimately shaking his head.

"Right, how are you planning to save your aunt?" Fang Feng asked. As for this matter, Du Si Lin only said that he had his own plan.

"Auntie doesn't need me to save her," said Du Sulin. "Do you remember that hairpin? Auntie wanted to tell us that there are many ways to reveal the identity of a non-transformed bone, but she specifically returned this hairpin in order to tell me at the same time not to worry about her, she has her own way."

"Is this what they mean by 'underground language'?" Fengfeng asked.

"Alright," Du Sulin nodded, exhaling a breath of air. "I only remember my aunt telling me before that if one day she gave me the hairpin through some means, it would mean she was very safe."

"Why didn't you say so at the time?"

"I forgot." Duslin said with a relaxed face, "I also just remembered this thing a few days ago."

"How could you forget this?" Fang Feng really wanted to slap Du Si Lin to death.

"I don't know either. Lately, I've been remembering a lot of things that I didn't remember before, but the things I do remember, I can't recall them anymore." Du Siling's expression became somewhat perplexed at this point.

"Are you Parkinson's or something?" Fang Feng teased, but gradually, she found that Du Si Lin still had that bewildered expression. Moreover, the luster in his eyes seemed to have dimmed a bit.

"Taiguang! Taiguang!" Her hands grasped Du Siling's shoulders, shaking him violently as she repeatedly called out his name.

"Huh?" Du Sulin came back to himself, "What's wrong?"

"Just where were we?" Fengfeng stared into Du Siling's eyes and asked in a tentative tone.

"You don't remember then." Du Sulin didn't know Fengfeng's thoughts, thinking that Fengfeng was teasing her, so she didn't answer Fengfeng's question.

"We have a car, let's go back." Du Sulin hailed a taxi and said to Fang Feng who was still standing there in a daze.

"Never mind, we just mentioned that I couldn't gather a hundred sunny pea shooter."
