About thirty minutes before lunch, Min-Jeong knocked on her door telling her that it was almost time for lunch. Twenty nine minutes before lunch, YeoJin knocked on her door telling her that it was almost time for lunch. She left giggling. At twenty eight minutes until lunch, Nayeon got the back of her head smacked just as she was about to knock on Seulgi’s office door. This wiped the smirk off her face as she lowered her hand.
She looked around and saw Yeji walking off. “Leave her alone” trailed in the air behind her as she walked off.
Huffing, she started walking off after Yeji but knew the other woman was correct. Seulgi had to be under immense stress, both with work and Jackson. Then she remembered what had happened to Wendy, so was suitably chagrined at her behavior and promised herself to knock it off and try to be proper support for her boss.
After all, not only were they coworkers, they were friends. Nayeon knew that she should be more supportive, with everything going on. She was slightly ashamed of her juvenile behavior just now. She had a fairly ironcd sense of self, so she was not too ashamed, but just enough to change what she did.
Nayeon made a mental note to see what extra work she could pick up off Seulgi’s desk to make her life easier. Besides, Seulgi already knew that she acted immaturely for comedic effects, not because she really was.
At about ten minutes ‘til, Seulgi emerged from her office and moved to join the Cool Kids table in the breakroom. She stopped by the fridge to get her lunch and then joined everyone at the table. All of the usual suspects were there, but they were all slightly uncomfortable with the one person who added themselves, uninvited, to the gathering.
The Big Boss smiled a cherubic grin and said “I’m not here. Please ignore me. That’s what I told them, too,” looking at everyone around the table. So far, only Bhuwakul seemed unconcerned enough that he was masticating his sandwich.
Seulgi just arched an eyebrow at him. She then promptly did as she was told and proceeded to ignore him. As these were her confidants, she looked at each person as everyone started to eat.
As there was an unusually august person in their midst, they were in a fairly isoted area, off to the side, from the rest of the people in the breakroom.
Said person was looking around the breakroom, gawking like a tourist. This made Seulgi unreasonably annoyed. So she viciously and with mal-intent proceeded to ignore him. Naturally, this amused him even more. She scowled as he smirked.
Seulgi got up and flounced off to get some tea.
She got back with a steaming cup of something. There was a little white paper tag attached by a string floating in the breeze of her gait announcing what fvor of tea it was. Today was Earl Grey.
She sat back down at the table, brought out her lunch, and started eating. The natural conversation was fairly freewheeling and just as irreverent as you’d assume from them. After most of the lunches were about half finished, Seulgi rapped softly on the table with a knuckle.
It was soft enough not to interrupt anyone else in the room, there was immediate silence from her table. The Boss was impressed because even he could not get the Board of Directors in line this fast or easy.
“Ok, folks, this is what we have so far.” As this was not work-reted, they had to be more circumspect. She gave as much information as swiftly and succinctly as possible. While discussing things, she asked Yeji about her cousin, but there was no new information. Even she could not get in touch with him. That was unheard of.
Seulgi then proceeded to tell everyone about the bugs that they found in the box that she was given.
At this point, Bhuwakul handed her keys back and said that her pce was clean. Everyone, except Seulgi, was surprised by this interchange. But no one said anything. That was mostly because of Yeji kicking Nayeon’s ankle when she started saying something with a gleam in her eye.
Even the Boss had a specutive gaze, but he was much more inscrutable than Nayeon could ever hope to be. But, it was obvious that he had thoughts and was making pns while still listening to what she said.
However, everyone stopped in shock when Seulgi reached over to pull a single hair off Bhuwakul’s shirt. She smiled and asked, “Was Suki loving on you again?” He just smiled and said nothing.
Seulgi brought herself back to the present. She continued telling people what had been happening. When she was finished, she expined to everyone that this was why they needed to stop coming by her office unless it was strictly business. Even then, they needed to be quiet and subdued until she told them otherwise. Everyone was welcome except Nayeon as everyone knew, even the Big Boss, that Nayeon was neither quiet nor subdued. They all needed to ‘avoid and isote’ her. Obviously, there were reasons for this and she was asking this of them, so they would be helping her by acting like this.
If there was something that needed to be passed along, go ahead and do it, but just knock on her door quietly and hand her a sticky note with whatever information needed to be passed.
There was about fifteen minutes until lunch was over. She looked over at the Boss and arched an inviting eyebrow. He declined the invitation and cleaned up after himself.
Before dispersing everyone, Seulgi asked if there was any company business that needed to be discussed. There was no morning meeting this morning, so she took the opportunity to discuss things now. She did not have her normal meeting, obviously and there were no assignments today.
From now on, they will have their daily meeting here during lunch. She asked Yeji to come by her office in the morning to collect assignments and pass them on to everyone. She got a nod of acceptance back.
She ignored the quip from the Boss asking “Will I get an assignment, too?” He did get the distinct feeling that at least three hands were balling up to flick him in the forehead. He went back to being quiet if only to save his forehead.
