That was all they heard before things got really lively. The police would escort them to the airport. The nurse staff was also warned that there would be several rge men, possibly with, more likely without rge and scary firearms. Regardless, there would be several men coming for Wendy and her family. They were their men and expected.
The nurses were nervous at this, but as they were warned ahead of time and were made known that they were on the way, it was not nearly as bad as if they just showed up.
Both Parents started packing up Wendy’s room. Wendy, being in the state that she is in, would have been worthless in helping them. So, Seulgi just sat by her side, holding her hand, keeping her company. Their pending time apart would be painful, in several ways. They would make as much of it as possible. There was still the phone and multiple ways to talk online together so it’s not like they’d never talk again. Just that it would be more problematic to set things up and then make sure that they knew the tech needed to make it happen.
Song-Hoon was an expert in all things medical, and absolutely useless when it came to working his phone. Jeong-Hui was not much better.
Yeji took both of their phones out of their hands and set them up with direct messaging and video conferencing. Then she handed the phone back and showed them what they needed to know. Once her mini-lecture was done, she went back to resting against the wall. She wanted to stay out of the way as much as possible, but help when or where she could.
Bhuwakul was getting ready to step forward to help out before Yeji stepped in. Seulgi had many people with many unknown talents around her. Who knew that Yeji could have ended up as a florist instead?
Song-Hoon was pretty simple, so no guesswork there. Seulgi was unsure what all Jeong-Hui was able to do. She knew that she would probably be much safer not knowing. Ignorance was bliss and she was very happy.
Twenty minutes ter, there was a knock on the door. Jeong-Hui answered the door, after Bhuwakul opened it for her, and she gave a minimal bow out of curtsey and said “Oppa? I was expecting our cousin.”
The still unannounced man started to enter the room. He was followed by some of the rgest, scariest, most dangerous men that Seulgi had ever seen. She would have been terrified of them had they not all performed a bow to Jeong-Hui.
Then they turned toward Wendy and surprised everyone again by kneeling towards her. Well, neither Wendy nor the Parents were surprised, but everyone else was.
“Get up, uncle. I asked you to stop doing that, haven’t I? You guys get up, too. It’s good to see you all.” Wendy beamed a smile at them while scolding them, so they were pleased.
Seulgi and Yeji traded looks. Wendy had her own personal army? Looks like it.
Wendy, on the other hand, looked mortified that her friends found out. She started stammering, but Seulgi stopped her. “Expin when you get back, OK?”
Wendy just nodded.
Several of the men noticed that they were holding hands. One looked offended and started to step forward to say something. When this person stepped forward, Bhuwakul stepped behind Seulgi, in a non-threatening, but very protective way.
Jeong-Hui simply said “Down, boys. We’re all friends here.”
The one man stilled and sat back down. Seulgi turned to Bhuwakul and put her hand on his forearm, not needing to say a thing. He didn’t move away, but he did lean back on the wall in a deceptively rexed manner.
Wendy’s uncle turned to the Parents and said “The pne will be ready in about a half hour. We should get going.”
Song-Hoon said “We still have all of your things since you left, so you shouldn’t need anything from your apartment. If you are missing anything, we can just buy it at home.” He turned to Seulgi. “I want to thank you, for all of us, for taking care of our little girl. I know that she is no longer our little girl, but she’ll forever be our little girl.”
Seulgi nodded and started to say something, but was over-ridden.
“As archaic and melodramatic as it may sound, but this is a debt of our House. If you ever need anything, call on us. We cannot promise to ever give her back but know that you will be welcomed wherever we are. You and,” he waved at Yeji and Bhuwakul, “yours. You just have to tell us when you are showing up and we’ll handle everything else from there.”
Jeong-Hui chimes in with, “Seulgi, we mean it.”
Wendy quipped, “Come visit me when you can. You know you, and the rest – all of them, will forever be welcome. OH! Also, tell Soo-Young and JooHyun as well, will you?”
“I’ve already gotten in touch with JooHyunnie. I’ll get in touch with Soo-Young as soon as I can. I’ll let them know what’s happening. Do they have your email? If not, I’ll give it to them so you can stay in touch.”
The st few moments were spent thus, wrapping things up. Last things to be said.
Yeji had her things to say and hugged Wendy. Bhuwakul came forward and pced his hand on her shoulder, that was all that needed to be said between them.
A few guys started to object, but the uncle growled at them and everyone settled back down. Jeong-Hui said they were friends. That was a higher endorsement than he had heard about a dozen other people. The only thing that would have been higher is if she said that they were family. Between how Wendy held her hand and the way the Parents spoke to her, the Uncle knew that Seulgi was Family. Capitol “F” Family. He’d have to task someone left behind to keep an eye on her. He didn’t need to bother anyone else about it, but he made a mental note to be as un-intrusive as possible.
He also made a note to have Bhuwakul looked into. He seemed to be quite attached to Ms. Seulgi. She seemed to have accepted him, but better safe than sorry.
“OK, folks. It’s time to pack it up and go. Ms. Seulgi, Ms. Yeji, and Mr. Bhuwakul, it was a pleasure meeting you. Perhaps it will be more of a pleasure if we meet again under better circumstances. Grab a box, boys. We leave in five.”
Tears and hugs mingled as goodbyes were said. Promises of visits were made. Promises of taking extra care were made. All too soon, they were gone.
The one who made the objection earlier gave them a hard look until Jeong-Hui herself spped him hard enough to shake any fillings that he had.
