Chapter 61: Innocent Hearts Resentment

  Chapter 61: Sincere Heart's Resentment

Jing Fan gazed at her husband on the sickbed, her heart struggling and churning to the point of shattering. The earth-shaking secret she had unintentionally discovered had become a mysterious and unpredictable curse. The embroidery needle slipped again and pricked her finger, she let out a soft hum, looking at the blood bead that emerged from the tip of her finger, still not daring to believe that fate was so sinister and unpredictable.

Aren't they siblings? How can they become strangers overnight? If the husband knew that he and the fourth sister didn't have a sibling relationship, what would he do? Her gaze unconsciously shifted to the bed: his face was sallow, his skin pale, his cheekbones prominent, and he had lost a lot of weight. She knew that his illness hadn't improved not because the imperial physician was incompetent, but because his heart disease was severe. His heart knot was deeply rooted, and he was tormenting himself until he was exhausted.

Perhaps if he knew the truth, he could dispel his inner demons and all his illnesses would heal on their own? …… She shuddered violently, trembling with fear at her own crazy thoughts.

"Clang!" The porcelain collided, and Jingfei looked towards the direction of the door with a nervous expression as if she had been stimulated.

Feng Lian's face was pale and frightened, holding a tray, the soup in the bowl and spoon still swaying back and forth.

Another woman who wants to fight with herself for her husband! She put down the needle and thread in her hand, stood up and walked towards Feng Lü. Every step she took, a change occurred in her mind, her anger, her unwillingness, her grievances, until she stood in front of her, all turned into endurance.

If she had to choose between Xia Tian and Feng Wei in the summer, she would rather choose Feng Wei.

She sat down beside the bed with a medicine bowl in her hand and called out softly: "Husband, it's time to take your medicine."

Xia Yang was sleeping soundly, breathing evenly.

She couldn't help but reach out to stroke his cheek, he had lost so much weight, both cheeks were sunken. Her fingers were about to touch his face when suddenly he turned his head, her hand froze in mid-air, her fingertips trembling uncontrollably. With a heavy breath, her voice suddenly became sharp: "What, husband wants to see Fourth Sister again? Should I invite her over to serve you medicine?"

Her eyes suddenly opened, and Xia Yang turned his head to glare at her.

Jing Fan's heart skipped a beat, and a sharp pain filled her chest. She could only barely hold on by biting her lip tightly. What was that look in his eyes?! Hatred, contempt, disgust. Since when did the gaze he directed at her change from its usual indifference to this naked hostility?

She didn't want to say those hurtful words again, but she was in so much pain, why didn't anyone show her any sympathy!

His gaze swept to Feng Lui, who was standing timidly by the side. Xia Yang's eyes became somewhat complicated, "You can go back now, no need to attend here." Without you by Tian Er's side, it might be very uncomfortable. He didn't say this out loud, just like many other things he didn't say: Is Tian Er okay? Has she spoken again? Does she feel lonely and isolated?

With a thud, she fell to her knees, her voice trembling with tears: "Young Master, is it something wrong that I've done? Please don't send me away!"

"If you want to leave, then leave! This is not a place where you can haggle!" Jing Feng's voice was cold and detached, her anger fully vented on her.

  "Madam, you clearly promised me..."

"Shut up!" Jing Fei glared at her and Feng Lian immediately fell silent.

Xia Yang suddenly felt something was off, and just as she furrowed her brow, a commotion erupted outside.

  "What happened outside?"

Feng Lian's thoughts were quick and nimble. As soon as Jing Fei asked her a question, she immediately responded with a "yes" and ran out to check.

The room fell silent for a moment. Xiaoyang closed his eyes and asked indifferently, "What did you promise Fengli? Was it your intention to let her come here to serve you?"

Jing Fan didn't make a sound, she could hear the underlying tone in Xia Yang's words, he suspected himself. A bitter smile appeared on her face, her intention was just to protect her precarious marriage.

"Oh no, something's happened to Miss!" Feng Lian rushed back, stumbling. "Young Master, Miss is gone!"

"What?" Xiaoyang sat up from the bed, Jingfei dodged and the medicine bowl in his hand was knocked over to the ground. Dizzy for a moment, he gritted his teeth and held on tight. "What did you say? What's wrong with Tian'er?"

Feng Lian swallowed her saliva, "Miss tied up the servant girl of Third Young Master in the house and went out alone. Just now, Seventh Young Master came to ask if Third Young Master had come to our mansion. He said that Third Young Master and a certain Fang Gongzi were ambushed in the city and are now both missing. The bound servant girl said that Fang Gongzi might be Miss!"

Xia Yang only felt a black cloud in front of his eyes, his body swayed, and he was about to get out of bed. "Go, call Jingchu."

"Husband, what are you doing? You can't move!" Jing Fei hastily came forward to support him.

"Change for me." He didn't budge, panting heavily, gritting his teeth as he stood up.

Jing's lips trembled as if wanting to say something, but ultimately didn't utter a word, nor did she move.

Xia Yang steadied himself, glared at her with a scowl and bellowed: "Feng Liu, come here!"

"Crack, crack......" Although it was silent, her ears were filled with the sound of shattering and fragmentation. Jing Xi blinked away the sour and painful tears in her eyes, as her heart finally disintegrated into tiny grains of dust that scattered one by one into the desperate air.
