Chapter 72: Yuan Longji

  Yuan Longji Chapter 72

"Can you tell who stabbed you?" Emperor Zhaojian leaned on the pillow, his face pale and tired, but his eyes were bright.

Yuan Longqiao looked straight at Emperor Zhaojian with a calm expression, and said lightly: "Xiaogui has been investigating all along."

The corners of his mouth slightly curled up, and Zhao Gan Emperor also started Tai Chi, "Don't you have any suspicious objects in your heart?"

"There is, but currently there is no conclusive evidence."

"It seems you have your own plan." He nodded, seemingly very satisfied with his response. The topic shifted, and Emperor Zhaojian asked again: "What will happen to your household next?"

"In the palace, all the guards, maids and eunuchs must be thoroughly investigated. However," Yuan Longqiao paused, seeing Emperor Zhaojian's eyebrows rise, "we can't dismiss everyone either, or some people might become restless."

Zhao Gan Emperor heard this and burst out laughing, during which he couldn't help but cough repeatedly.

"Imperial Father." Yuan Longqiao hastily handed over the tea on the table.

With a smile and a cough, Emperor Zhaojian waved his hand and relaxed into a more comfortable position in the dragon chair. He lazily asked, "How's that little wife of yours doing? Still can't speak? Has she been with you all these days?"

Her slightly stern and angular facial features presented a nearly perfect resolute appearance, "She's just an innocent child without any ulterior motives."

Emperor Zhao Qing stared at him quietly for a while, sighed, and his tone was slightly heavy: "I just want you to know what you're doing. I'm tired, you can go back."

"Yes. The child takes his leave."

He and Wang got married, and the Wang Mansion was decorated with lanterns and streamers, with guests arriving in droves. Xia Tian followed Yuan Longqiao into the mansion to attend the ceremony, and as soon as they stepped out of the carriage, she saw Xia Jingting and Xia Shuang waiting there.

"Dad!" Xia Tian excitedly lifted her skirt and jumped down from the carriage, rushing straight into Xia Jingting's arms.

"Heavens! How can you be so rude, you're a princess and yet still so childish." Although Xia Jingting's words were scolding, the gaze he gave to Xia Tian as he held her arm was nothing but doting. His daughter not only returned safely but could also speak again, there truly wasn't anything that made him happier than this.

Xiafeng looked at Xia Tian with disapproval, then shifted her gaze to the slow and elegant horse-drawn carriage of Yuan Longqiao, "I've seen Your Highness."

Yuan Longqiao nodded slightly, his usually stern face didn't show much expression, nor was it severe.

Xia Jingting let go of Xia Tian and also paid respects to Yuan Longqiao.

  "Father-in-law."

"Tian'er still... " looked around and was still tightly grasping her daughter like an octopus, giving Xia Jingting a headache.

The corners of his mouth slightly raised, Yuan Long walked past Xia Tian's side with a swagger, and when they passed each other, he said in a low voice: "Don't be naughty, behave yourself."

In the summer, he returned a big ghost face to him. Yuan Longqiao seemed to have not seen it and stepped into the door under the guidance of the Wangfu steward who came to greet him. Xia Shuang, on the other hand, stared with wide eyes at the side.

The huge stone in her heart was finally put down, Xia Jingting lovingly stroked Xia Tian's hair, and had been worried that the third prince would not treat her well, but now it seems that the two of them get along very well.

"Huh? Why can't I see big brother?" Xia Tian looked around, asking in puzzlement.

Xia Jingting's expression turned gloomy for a moment before it was quickly covered up, "Yang Er has something important to attend to today and cannot come."

Xia Feng looked at her father with a puzzled expression, seeing his warning gaze, and unwittingly furrowed her brow, lowering her head in silence.

"What a pity!" Xia Tian pouted in disappointment, but her eyes caught sight of Yuan Longlin talking to someone in the courtyard and she immediately brightened up. She grasped Xia Jingting's arm and said with a smile: "Father, let's go in too."

"Hmm." Xia Jingting nodded and walked in with Xia Tian. Xia Shuang rolled her eyes slightly, feeling a bit sulky, and followed them in.

"Your Highness!" Xia Feng immediately became excited as soon as he saw Yuan Longlin.

Yuan Longlin turned his head and said, "Xia Shuang, where did you go? You disappeared in a flash just now."

Xiafeng raised an eyebrow and threw a glance behind her, without responding, only greeting Yuan Longji who was standing shoulder to shoulder with Yuan Longlin: "Xiafeng has seen the Sixth Prince."

Yuan Long's cheeks flushed with a smile, his long eyelashes drooping down, casting a deep and shallow shadow under his eyes.

"Long Xiaoyi!" Xiatian lightly patted Yuan Longlin's shoulder, and with a glance, her attention was focused on Yuan Longji. Who said that Yuan Longqi was the most handsome son of the Emperor? The shy and introverted little boy in front of him was as delicate and perfect as a porcelain doll. Xiatian looked at him with surprise and delight, and couldn't help but surround him, "Hey, who are you again? I... seem to have seen you before!"

Yuan Longji's face had already turned red and he couldn't bear to look at it, lowering his head in discomfort and dodging left and right.

"Hey, don't scare my sixth brother." Xia Jingting hadn't even had time to scold him when Yuan Longlin jumped out and stood in front of Xia Tian, frowning with a look of discontent. He had seen Xia Tian's "shocking moves" several times already and was somewhat used to them, especially since he still thought she was the same eccentric and clever Fang Fang that he had known from before.

"Sixth Highness!" Xia Tian was stunned, grabbing onto Yuan Longxi's cloak and poking out half of his head from beside him to continue staring at Yuan Longji.

"Third Sister!!!" Yuan Longlin rolled his eyes in annoyance, feeling inexplicably unwell in his heart. "Where's Third Brother?"

Third sister! Yuan Longji's face turned red as he lifted his head, only to remember that the beautiful and bold woman in front of him was the same Summer who couldn't speak back then. But now she had become lively and spirited, full of vitality, and perfectly matched with the blooming peony on her head.

"He... looked around in all directions during the summer, speechless."

"Do you even know how to be someone's wife?!" Yuan Longlin muttered in disdain.

"Summer eyes stared, loudly said: 'You're so rude! Do you know how to behave as someone's younger brother?'"

"I'm older than you!" Yuan Long's furious roar overturned the sunny big boy image in an instant.

"Are you sure? What year, month and day were you born?"

"I am in the twelfth year of Zhaoqing..."

"You say I'm a pig and you start learning to oink, haven't you heard the saying 'treat your sister-in-law like your mother'? You must have been born 800 years ago, just because you call me 'Third Sister', I'm older than you!"

"Tian Er!" Xia Jingting was startled, how in just a few days her Tian Er seemed to have changed into a different person, before even if she was being willful she wouldn't be so rude.

Xiafeng was already stunned, glancing at Yuan Long's iron-green face, he suddenly admired his sister. When had he ever seen the Seventh Prince suffer such a loss!

Yuan Longji couldn't help but smile slightly, his long eyelashes fluttering lightly, his thin lips pursed into a beautiful arc.

"Her Highness Zhen Fei has arrived!" someone outside suddenly shouted. Everyone was somewhat surprised, not expecting Princess Zhen to come to the Wang Manor.
