Chapter 24: Handsome Appearance

Meesha's eyes overflowed with tears as Helen finished reading. She felt a sense of relief wash over her, knowing that the people who had once wronged her had seen the light and were now seeking forgiveness.

Meesha smiled, her eyes shining with kindness. "Thank you. I've forgiven you all already. You were just misled, and it wasn't your fault."

The crowd erupted in cheers and applause, relieved that Meesha had forgiven them.

Helen hesitated shyly before asking, "Can...can I hug you?"

Meesha smiled kindly and opened her arms. "Of course."

As Helen hugged her, the rest of the crowd began to murmur, asking for hugs as well.

But she couldn't hug them all.

Meesha just hugged a few of them, feeling a sense of closure and healing.

The crowd began to disperse, but not before they expressed their admiration for Meesha's forgiving spirit. "If it were me, I wouldn't have forgiven us so easily."

"I agree. Do you believe we once wanted Meesha dead for an offense she didn't eve. commit?"

"Thinking about it makes me feel bad."

"She must have gone through a lots of trauma from all the hate and slandering. If it were me, I would have committed suicide long ago."

"I know, right? Our Meesha is so strong. We should be thankful she didn't hurt herself because of us."

As the crowd left, Meesha noticed a surge in her social media followers. In less than an hour, she had gained 50 million new followers, surpassing her previous record.

Videos of apologies and forgiveness flooded the Internet, with many using the hashtags #We'resorryMeesha.

During dinner, Meesha gazed at Xanqer, a warm smile on her face. "Xanqer, I'm so glad my career is back to normal," she said, her eyes sparkling with gratitude.

Xanqer didn't respond, his attention focused on his food. Meesha's smile faltered for a moment, but she continued, undeterred. "Xanqer, you're my lucky charm. As soon as you came back, good things started happening to me."

Xanqer raised an eyebrow, his expression skeptical. Meesha nodded enthusiastically, her ponytail bobbing up and down. "It's true. You have a way of bringing good fortune into my life."

Xanqer's gaze narrowed, his eyes piercing as he studied Meesha. For a moment, she felt like he could see right through her, to the deepest recesses of her heart. Then, without a word, he returned to eating, his expression impassive.

Meesha felt a pang of disappointment, her smile faltering. She had been hoping for some acknowledgment, some sign that Xanqer cared. But as she gazed at him, she couldn't help but feel drawn to his stoic nature, his handsome face. She heaved a deep sigh.

"How can you be so handsome?" she wondered, her lips pouting slightly. "You keep making me fall in love with you over and over again. Out of all the men I've met, only you have won my heart...and you don't even seem to care."

  [THE NEXT MORNING]

Meesha lounged on the couch, watching TV and snacking on popcorn from a bowl. The sound of Xanqer's voice carried from upstairs, and she turned to see him descending the stairs. Her eyes widened in surprise as she took in his appearance.

Xanqer was dressed in a tailored, dark blue suit that perfectly accentuated his broad shoulders and chiseled physique. Underneath, a crisp white dress shirt provided a sharp contrast, its starched collar framing his face.

A rich blue vest added a luxurious layer, buttoned neatly over the shirt. A slim patterned tie in a subtle, complementary hue added a touch of sophistication.

Finally, a long, dark coat draped elegantly over his shoulders, its tailored silhouette adding a touch of elegance to his already imposing figure. His black hair fell in tumbles around his head, adding a touch of charm. Meesha's heart skipped a beat as she took in his handsome appearance.

Meesha smiled, feeling a flutter in her chest. She stood up from the couch and walked over to Xanqer, who was still on his phone call. His expression was stoic, his voice low and menacing.

"You what?" Xanqer asked, his tone dripping with disdain. "I'm coming there right now. By the time I get there, you all won't be spared."

Meesha wondered who was on the receiving end of Xanqer's wrath. She decided to wait until he finished his call before speaking to him.

As soon as Xanqer hung up, Meesha asked, "Where are you going?"

Xanqer's expression remained Indifferent. "To my office."

Meesha remembered Millennium Co. – Xanqer's multi-trillion dollar company. But then, her eyes widened in surprise. "Can you go out?"

  Xanqer's response was matter-of-fact. "It's been a year."

  Meesha nodded. "Oh…"

Just then, the doorbell rang, and Meesha went to answer it. She found Davis, Xanqer's personal assistant, standing outside. "Oh, Davis. It's been ages seen I've seen you," she said, a bright smile on her face.

But Davis remained formal, as always. "Yes, Miss Dasilva."

Davis walked in and collected Xanqer's briefcase with a respectful bow. Xanqer checked his watch and turned to Davis. "Let's go."

Meesha felt a pang of disappointment that Xanqer was leaving already. She tried to remain cheerful, though. "Goodbye!"

Xanqer didn't respond, simply walking away without a backward glance. Davis opened the car door for him, and Xanqer slid into the backseat. Davis shut the door and got into the driver's seat.

Meesha waved enthusiastically as the car drove off. "Bye! Have a safe trip! See you at dinner!" she called out, even though she knew Xanqer wouldn't apprehend her.
