Stop moving! Gabby commanded the slime with [Telepathy]. She was only met with thoughts of irritation and confusion though the mental link. While the stupid slime could understand what she wanted it to do, it just didn't want to listen to her.

  Gabby was starting to get irritated as well. Why didn't the slime simply listen to her. Surely any creature as stupid and weak like the slime would love to obey someone as strong and smart as her.

  Gabby's patience was running out. She was close to chucking the dumb thing back where it came from. If the slime didn't want to listen to her, that was its own fault.

  In frustration Gabby threw her mind against the slime’s. Not caring about giving specific commands. Thoughts about how the slime should serve Gabby assaulted its mind. Her frustration of how the slime didn't understand its position. Her anger over the slime’s refusal to obey her. Feelings Gabby was unable to put into words, but together had a singur meaning:

  Gabby slid down a steep slope, careful not to touch the bush of biteleaves at the bottom. She had gotten to her destination, a small ravine filled with bushes of various types. Most notable, berry bushes. She avoided more biteleaves. While they were annoying, they also scared rger animals away from her secret food source. Touching one without the hands to remove the burning spines was a terrible fate.

  Hungry birds were the only creatures Gabby had to contend with. Unfortunately, the birds had been hungry today. The berries were almost completely gone. And what little Gabby managed to pick didn't fill her stomach.

  “Stupid birds,” Gabby muttered. As she chewed on a handful of sour berries that she had managed to pick. She swore the birds ate her berries just to spite her.

  Still cursing the birds, she climbed out of the ravine. Once again Gabby was careful to avoid the biteleaf bush, she didn't want to spend the rest of her day picking thorns again.

  From here she had to venture into unexplored forest. A part of Gabby was excited. She was getting tired of berries, and wanted meat.

  Gabby sniffed the air. She licked her finger to check wind direction. It took her a second to analyze the results. Before she picked a completely arbitrary direction to walk in. Her perfect hunting skills would never fail her.

  Her hunting skills had failed her. Gabby had been walking for way too long, and she hadn't found shit. Not even a hint of footprints. At least not of something she could hunt. Hooves meant boars and they were too strong. Paws the size of her hand meant wolves and they were even worse. This was why she preferred berries, they were so much easier to find.

  Gabby looked at the sky. The sun was setting, the azure sky fading towards a dim orange. She needed to get back to the cave. She had no pns sleeping outside in the dangerous forest.
