Chapter 70: Almost there!

  "[The Elementalist]."

The image of the Izanami-style robed man was summoned by Agatha; at the side stood a suit-wearing man with the same face behind a desk in a very luxurious; Elizabeth found it…intriguing.

"He doesn't use Security Nodes?" Elizabeth asked as the image became clearer, there was no way someone couldn't link the two identities.

"He…does use them," Agatha answered, "Only his are more…nuanced, he has a longer list of whitelisted people, you probably entered by the grace of your parents…or because he has some degree of interest in you."

"So... should I know his name?" Elizabeth asked back.

“Oda Ryuuji, the heir of Izanami.” Agatha said summoning another picture, on this one the man was standing with an older man to his side, Elizabeth couldn't recognize the older man but she assumed he was important, since he had several bodyguards surrounding them, one even looked like a bodybuilder more than a guard…

"So? What's his deal?" Rossie said from the side, "He seemed good at using talismans, but surely there is more to him?"

"He is not only 'Good' he is the best," Agatha said summoning more photographs of him, in some he was weaving on the air as words seemed to be inscribed on the air, in others he was throwing talismans and in others he had his hand placed on the ground as a magic circle was shining. "He is what we call a magic specialist."

"...so a Sage?" Rena asked from the side.

Was [The Elementalist] the ultimate form of what Michael could achieve?

"Not quite what you are thinking, but close enough; on that side of the world, they have a slightly different version of what we call a [Sage]." Agatha said, summoning the picture of the average Sage Elizabeth had thought.

The image of an old man wearing robes and holding a staff, on the side of that image was another one of a man wearing the Izanami style robes, a weird top hat and some talismans on his hands.

"What is a [Sage]?" Agatha asked to the three girls.

  "A spellcaster?" Rossie said first.

"A mage that achieved the top of magic?" Rena added, confused about something in the question.

"Hmm….Someone who studies magic and develops new ways to use it?" Elizabeth asked unsure.

"That is our definition, but their side of the world has a different meaning for Sage. There is a common saying among the mages of their side." Agatha said, summoning a new holoscreen, this one had speakers built in.

The video started playing and soon Elizabeth heard the voice of Oda Ryuuji, [The Elementalist], "Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one." The image panned out, and he was surrounded by multiple hostile mages.

After he finished his chant, multiple bells flew out from his sleeves. These bells started ringing out, and with each ring, a spell blossomed.

[Fire Lance], [Wind Scythe], [Earth Hammer], [Water Cutter], [Icycle Spear], [Seed Leech], [Lightning Vortex], [Darkness Bullet], [Holy Rain]... The list went on and on, multiple types of spells from all varieties.

All blooming one after the other, no spell was repeated, and each one targeted a single objective; half of them were A-Tier spells. While the targets could barely be B-Tier spellcasters.

"As you can see, he has quite the variety of spells, there are rumors that imply that he seals attacks sent his way and stockpilled them for later use. Releasing them upon enemies. Other people say that he casts ritual magic to create these spells and then seals them up." Agatha said as the video stopped after the last enemy was defeated, every single moment the fight went on more and more spells continued showing up.

That was indeed dangerous, but also made Elizabeth wonder, if he was that dangerous... how much of a menace was Jenna?

"So...best case scenario he has a limited stockpile of spells, "Elizabeth said eyeing the image on the screen.

"Worst case scenario he may be able to use our own attacks against us," Rena said while also eyeing the video as her hand seemed to twitch as if it wanted to get hold of her sword.

"So...will he be an enemy?" Elizabeth asked, she hadn't used her Identify on him, but if he was a possible enemy...she may need to.

"Depends on how he sees you, he is mostly focused on keeping his nation afloat, so if he thinks that you are a danger to his citizens then yes. He may become an enemy, and making him an enemy means making his bodyguard an enemy too." Agatha said, and to the surprise of no one, she showed a photo of [The Elementalist] standing in front of an Izanamy-style temple.

"His bodyguard? Why would I care about..." Elizabeth was about to say as she noticed the figure standing behind [The Elementalist].

An armored man in a full body armor.

The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.

"...Are you telling me that [The Beast Master], one of the most powerful men in the world...Is a mere [BodyGuard]?" Elizabeth said as she felt a headache wanting to form.

"I mean, if what [Odyssey] told me this isn't the weirdest thing you have seen." Agatha said with a shrug.

"Fair, but that is still so wrong." Elizabeth grumbled, "Okay, I'll try to not antagonize him."

And she meant it, fighting against [The Elementalist] sounded like a pain, she doubted he would be able to seal her attacks...she hoped so at least, but dealing with [The BeastMaster] would be harder.

If he could summon that type of creature...and depending on how his [Skills] interacted with the monsters in question... He may be the most dangerous man to be around.

Elizabeth didn't want to even think about what could happen if he got ahold of one of her Minions, if all he got from them was their skills...This man could get access to Terra Nexus. But if he also got access to their mana pool...

Then Elizabeth's advantage over other people (Her Mana Pool) would become a weakness, no. Worse than a weakness, it would become an advantage to their enemies.

"Okay, next? Someone more manageable?" Elizabeth said shaking her head, it was meaningless to think about these types of things.

"An easier one now then, of those that are left...well I guess this one?" Agatha said dismissing the images of both [The Elementalist] and [The Beast Master], by Elizabeth's count there were only four left.

If one didn't count Jenna that is.

"This one is easier to manage," Agatha said as she summoned the image of a man dressed in a monk attire, "[The Monk]."

"That is lazy writing," Elizabeth said as the image materialized, "Also, I think that one may be an enemy...or at least somewhat antagonist."

"Why?" Agatha asked, confused, "He is known to show to giveaways, visits orphanages, and shows interest in just causes."

"Exactly," Elizabeth said, "That is the kind of people that are easier to manipulate into committing crimes. Also, the one I'm going to study under may have punched him in the face."

"...right." Agatha said shaking her head, "He is a [Holy Caster] type, focused on protecting and exorcising evil spirits, he is not known for his power or for complex magic use like [The Elementalist] or [The Beast Master]."

  Exorcism?

  ...As in...

"He sends the souls of the damned into the circle of transmigration?" Elizabeth asked thinking about those that served under her, the dwellers of the dark.

"That is one way to see it, depends on who your soul is pledged to he can send them there, be it [Heaven], [Hell] or anything in between." Agatha answered, "He himself is not privy to where one ends up, but he is known to be able to purify and clean sites out of haunting spirits."

"Why did they sent him against [The Juggernaut] then?" Elizabeth asked confused, no one else should know about how Jenna's power worked...right?

"They did?" Agatha asked surprised, "Oh right, so that's why you said that your teacher for the third year punched him huh..."

Agatha moved the pictures and showed images of [The Monk] doing rites and exorcism.

"He is usually relegated to tanking attacks and delaying tactics, so maybe it was that?" Agatha said with a shrug, "Either way, even if he became an enemy you should be able to deal with him easily enough, good thing you are more of an [Elemental] mage, if you were a [Necromancer] or something like [The Mother of Shadows] who uses apparitions then you would be in danger."

  ....right.

"Any way of knowing if his magic can affect my minions? Some of them...are not quite...normal." Elizabeth said, summoning one of the [Cores] that her minions used to house their souls. "Any sample of his magicks to test with this?"

"A [Soul Core]? How did you get one of these? Are you using actual [Souls]? How did you even..." Agatha said surprised as she brought a piece of paper from one of her drawers, "Who I'm kidding, you probably got it from your parents..."

Agatha placed the purple marble on the middle of the magic circle and after feeding some mana into it Elizabeth saw the marble burst, that didn't seem like a good result.

"Well, if your minions use these, then you may be out of luck." Agatha said blowing out the crystal motes away from her desktop.

Elizabeth targeted each of those motes with her [Space Manipulation] and teleported them away back into her Shadow Haven. She would see if those could be used for something else later.

"Noted," Elizabeth said; she didn't use many of her Minions in the way of combat, but she did like to use them as scouting force, and if [The Monk] could exorcise the soul of the damned, then perhaps he had ways to detect them...

That would mean that she was at risk of being exposed if he ever tried to target her.

"Well, more likely than not he will not be an enemy, since he rarely goes out of the way to fight against other people. He mostly goes after people who use undead, those that summon demons and cultists." Agatha said dismissing the images of [The Monk].

Elizabeth would not think about all those Dragon Cultists she could feel beyond the dimensions.

"The next one, I guess, would be one of those that you are most familiar with," Agatha said, summoning the image of a black-haired Asian woman dressed in a black gala dress and looking down from a chair. "[The Mother of Shadows]."

  "Echidna," Elizabeth said afterward.

"There is no evidence that [The Mother of Monsters] and [The Mother of Shadows] are related in any way...at least officially, after [Advent]. She was one of the first to come forward and jump from being a [Villain] and turned into a [Hero]." Agatha said, showing newspaper cutouts.

So she cashed out as soon as possible.

"She was welcomed into [The Nine Stars] without too much fuzz since they needed a new powerhouse after [The Juggernaut] left them," Agatha said, summoning the photo of a ruined building and a grainy picture of [The Juggernaut] leaving the area.

Elizabeth was not sure if she should ask Jenna about that or not, surely there was a reason for this.

"She is a known element, famed for summoning all type of creatures that would make people think twice about fighting against her. She has summoned all type of creatures that should be inhabitants of hell. From the fabled Hydra to the vicious Cerberus." Agatha said summoning photos of those monsters, one by one the pictures continued growing in variety and in the type of horror they provided.

"No dragons?" Elizabeth said noticing a trend, the clsoest thing to a dragon had been the Hydra after all.

"Not recorded at least, not like she needs to. Usually what the Minotaurus can't solve the Cerberus can, and if worst comes to worst she drops a Hydra for good measure." Agatha said with a shrug, "Never had the need to summon something like that, and if that wasn't enough. She IS a Shadow User, so you can understand how versatile that is."

"What type of shadows does she use?" Elizabeth asked, she hadn't fought against many Shadow Users besides Max and Nyctophagia, and in the first she was defeated before knowing what happened...

And the second had been more of a fight between armies than between users.

"All of them," Agatha said without explaining more.

"All?" Elizabeth asked, "So like...she has teleportation? Elemental manipulation? Summoning? Magic? Weapon making? What type of Shadow skill did she have?"

Elizabeth hadn't been too focused on what other shadow users did, but she knew most had a niche and stuck to it; not many were like Elizabeth, who could just twist her mana into a new form and expand her power range.

"As it sounds, she has Shadow Manipulation, she has been seen using shadow-made weapons, can manipulate shadows into bolts of energy, can obviously summon very solid creatures. Her summons had been noted to bleed and die...not that they stay dead for long..." Agatha said showing a video of a minotaur being decapitated and bleeding out, only for shadows to sew his head back and for his blood to turn into shadows that returned to the minotaur, the thing stood again and walked as if nothing after, "She is known to have some kind of sealing or restraining skill too. Something with sewing the shadow shut?"

Agatha then showed a video of Echidna's shadow over someone else who looked scared and for some reason didn't move. Was she sealing his movements with shadows?

Elizabeth didn't see any of Echidna's shadow on the person's body. All that she saw was a part of Echidna's shadow that overlapped with the other person.

And that was all she needed? How was she even doing that?

Elizabeth didn't understand how that worked, also. "Well that seems unfair," Elizabeth didn't like the fact that Echidna seemed to have so much freedom.

"Not like it will be a problem to Eli-Eli," Rossie said from the side, "She can do all of that too!"

"Right, if anyone knows how to fight someone like that it would be Eli, since she has as much freedom with her Shadow Powers too," Rena added too.

Well, that was true, but it also meant that Elizabeth would fight someone who could be as good if not better than her with Shadows...And Max was not the best shadow user...

And he had been able to defeat her, at least Elizabeth now knew to use her mastery over other elements to compensate, so perhaps she would just [Thunder Queen] her way against Echidna too?

"Okay, that only leaves two left right?" Elizabeth said shaking her head, she wanted to get this over with.

"That is correct, the sister and brother." Agatha said, summoning the last couple of pictures of this presentation, "[The Warlock] and [The Prophet]."

"The holiest woman in the world," Rossie said with distaste in her tone as she glared at the picture of the holy woman.

"The most cursed man in the world," Rena added as she looked at the [Warlock] as if he was a bug on the ground to be squished.

"And the people who are attempting to take the spot of caretakers of Zaanam," Agatha said showing a photo of those very same people on the middle of the world congress. "So if you need to make a good impression on someone is in them,"

"Or murder," Rossie said from the side with a cute smile.
