It’s midday as Kelsey, Mai and Saige carry vegetables in baskets back to Strife Village. Suddenly, overhead, the three notice demon birds flying past the base, then circle back around. “That’s odd.” says Saige. “Yeah”, says Mai.

  They get inside, drop off their baskets with other people inside, then go to Gregory’s quarters. Upon getting inside, they see Gregory sitting on the couch. “We saw a couple of demon birds just a bit ago, but then they flew away.”, says Mai. “That’s not good. I’ll have to tell the guards.”, says Gregory. “Yeah.”, says Mai. Kelsey then squeezes in between their group to stand in front of Mai and face Gregory. “Want us to do anything about it?”, asks Kelsey. “No no, we’ll just handle it. It doesn’t take much, but to lock down the base. Just stay inside for now.”, says Gregory.

  Cut to nighttime now and the base is under lockdown. In the night, people walk around to get supplies and hear hundreds of demon birds cawing, kicking and clawing at the base from the outside. Kelsey, Mai and Saige patrol the inside of the base to see how people are doing, and they notice some families walking scared and children holding on tightly to their parents.

  Mai then goes up to a child and their mom. “It’s alright, it’s going to be okay.”, says Mai. “So this is what you usually do?”, asks Saige. “Yeah. Just about. And go hunting out for Azrael.”, says Mai. The three continue to walk together. “So I heard you don’t wanna join our cause, Saige.”, says Mai. “You don’t?”, says Kelsey. “I.. well I didn’t exactly say that, but I didn’t really see a point in joining.”, says Saige. Saige then looks around at all the people.

  “Demons overtake this world and cause dismay somewhere everyday.”, says Mai. “So that’s why you hunt Azrael, but what makes you think things will end once you find him?”, asks Saige. “Oh we don’t, but we believe demons will become more disorganized.”, says Mai. “How?”, asks Saige. “Well if we take out the heads. You see Gallagar, when he led those bandits. Then when you defeated him, the bandits became disorganized.”, says Mai. “Yeah? Well I don’t know about “disorganized”, more like they followed him out.”, says Saige. Mai shakes her head, “no”. “They did become disorganized or at least learned to not continue their ways and leave Airy Town alone. If we take out the heads, such as the one leading this attack, then we could have less dismay around the place. Your power took out Gallagar, it could take out much more too.”, says Mai.

  “I’ll be honest, I still don’t know how I took out the big guy.”, says Saige. “Then we could learn how to use your power, together.”, says Mai. “Oh okay.”, says Saige while blushing. “Sound like a plan?”, asks Mai. “Ah, sure.”, says Saige. “By the way...?”, asks Mai. “Yeah?”, asks Saige. “I’ve been wondering some days ago. When you started a fight with Gregory.”, says Mai. “Yeah no, that was stupid of me. Well he started it, but...”, says Saige right before being cut off. “You admitted you were infatuated with me.”, says Mai.

  “Whaa!”, exclaims Saige. “Was that true!?”, asks Mai is a sort of teasing way. “No, I-I just wanted a fight with Greg!”, says Saige. “Aww, so it wasn’t true!?”, asks Mai in continued teasing. “Of course not, why are you talking about this now!?”, says Saige as he blushes hard while talking.

  In response, people then start to laugh, chuckle and whisper about Saige, while smiling. An old wife and husband then chime in. “Young love.”, the old wife says. “He should just admit it.”, the old husband says. “Admit what!? Hey, shutup!”, exclaims Saige. Mai then laughs too, and looks around at everyone joining in, while forgetting about the noises outside, and Mai just smiles. “I’m not infatuated!”, yells Saige.

  Eventually, it then gets to morning time as Kelsey, Mai and Saige sit at the kitchen island with Gregory, in his quarters. “Huh, so you still wanna join the cause?”, asks Gregory. “Yeah.”, says Saige. “Mai, what did you put in his head?”, says Gregory. “Nah, it’s not just Mai. The people last night. I saw so many scared people. And I think it isn’t right for demons to terrorize like that. So.. I wanna join the search for Azrael.”, says Saige.

  There’s a moment of silence as Gregory pinches his forehead before speaking. “Alright, but I’ll have to talk to General Richter about this. If you’re serious about this, Saige.”, says Gregory.
