It’s now evening, nearing nighttime, in Creed Town. Our scene takes place just in the forest near the front entrance of Creed Town. Kelsey comes out from behind a tree within the forest, then sneaks her way behind another tree, comes out from behind the tree, does a few kicks toward the air, then sneaks her way behind another tree. She then peeks out from behind that tree, looking all-around her.
Mai just stands there at a close distance, just looking at Kelsey, with a hand on her hip. Mai then chimes in, “What the hell are you doing Kelsey?”. Kelsey responds, “”Kelsey” is my civilian name. When it’s mission mode you call me, “The Blue Phoenix”.” Mai responds back, “Whatever you say Kelsey.”. Kelsey corrects, “That’s Blue Phoenix.”. Mai responds back again, “Anyway Kelsey, I don’t see the Beast Tamer here. I wonder how the boys must be doing back in town.”.
Meanwhile with Gregory and Saige, they walk through the quiet desolate town, just looking left and right. Saige then breaks the silence, “So far nothing.”. Gregory responds, “I’m sure we're bound to hear something.”. Saige says back to him, “What do you think the sound of this Beast Tamer sounds like, anyway? Is it really just a flute?”. Gregory states, “That’s what you said your friend said. So we’ll listen out for that.”
The two groups keep searching as a few hours pass by. Saige states, “We’ve been patrolling for a while now.” Gregory is busy looking around himself, but breaks routine to talk, “Yeah, it’s a real shame we’re not picking up any noises.”.
Meanwhile with Kelsey and Mai. Kelsey has her arms hung down low as she walks. She then talks and says, “I, the Blue Phoenix, have not detected anything yet.”. “We haven’t detected anything for like two hours now.”, says Mai.
Suddenly, there’s the sound of a flute playing one long high note. “You hear that flute?”, asks Mai. Kelsey and Mai look around trying to face the location the flute sound is coming from.
Meanwhile with Gregory and Saige... “A flute. Come on.”, says Gregory. Gregory leads the way as they both run toward the forest. Eventually, Gregory and Saige meet up with Kelsey and Mai, as both groups meet in the middle of the forest, across from a guy that’s hunched over looking like the crossbreed between a humanoid and a toad. The guy then speaks, “It seems I’ve brought unwanted company.” Gregory then speaks, “A demon. Are you the one behind the taking of the pets in town?”. “Perhaps.”, the guy responds.
Saige then cuts in, ““Perhaps”? What’s that mean, are you behind the taking of the animals or not!?” “Ahh, he’s scary.”, the guy responds. Saige then takes one stomp forward. “Alright alright! Yes it was me.”, the guy responds. Gregory responds, “Thought so.”. “But you’ll never catch me!”, the guy says, right before playing a long low note on his flute. A great big crowd of animals then come out from behind the guy, as the animals have red eyes. In response, Gregory, Kelsey, Mai and Saige ready their weapons.

Mai then reminds the group, “Wait watch where you attack or you’ll hurt the animals.”. The guy then runs off behind the animals. “Damnit. Oh hey-!”, says Saige as he comes up in front of a hedgehog. “It’s Pincer. Hey hey Pincer, remember me!?”, says Saige. Pincer then begins to transform, taking on the appearance of bigger bodied hedgehog, the size of a bear. “Pincer?”, says Saige. Pincer then growls and tries slashing at Saige, but Saige dodges in time.
Two brown furred dogs nearby then turn into two black fuzzy furred demonic dogs and start trying to bite at Kelsey and Mai. Gregory looks over in surprise, then suddenly gets uppercutted by a demon bear and sent flying back, hitting a tree. “Pincer, snap out of it, come on! It’s me!”, says Saige. Pincer charges at Saige then tackles him to the ground and puts two paws down on Saige, as Saige grips them and grows horns while trying to tussle. “I don’t wanna hurt you man!”, says Saige.
The guy from earlier, who ran away is now on a tree branch, watching Saige’s fight and saying, “Another demon?”. Saige then successfully pushes Pincer off of himself, but then gets hit in the side of the face by Pincer and sent flying into a tree, snapping the tree over, while getting knocked out. Meanwhile, Kelsey and Mai are just running from demon dogs, as Gregory gets hit back again by the demon bear, then tries to shield himself by putting his arms up. “That’s enough! I believe you’ve had enough of a taste for tonight. Come along my animal pals!”, says the guy in the tree. The animals then back up and disappear into the darkness of the forest as the guy hops away through the trees. “Urn. Damn.”, says Gregory.
Later on, it eventually gets to morning time, as Saige sits by the river side of Creed Town. “Pincer... how am I supposed to get him back?”, says Saige to himself. “Hey Saigeee!”, says Mary as Saige turns his head and sees Mary waving from the distance at him, with a big smile on her face. “Mary, oh hey!”, says Saige, as he waves back.
Skip to later and Mary is now sitting beside Saige, after Saige told her everything that happened. “And that’s what happened.”, says Saige. “So he turned into a monster and fought you?”, asks Mary. “Yeah. Little guy got me good.”, says Saige. “That’s awful. So.. what do you plan to do now?”, asks Mary. “We’re taking them on the next night, but I’m thinking... we attack the guy before he has a chance to play his flute this time.”, says Saige. Saige then cracks his knuckles and says, “Then we’ll get him.”. “Be careful.”, Mary warns. “I’ll try to be.”, says Saige
Mary then is about to say something, hesitates, but then says it anyway. “Just.. Just have faith. And I’m sure you can come on top.” “Heh, I abandoned my faith some time ago.”, says Saige. “I thought so. Kinda difficult for you to be a follower of Thessia, when every follower in town gave you a reason not to be. But I still say to have faith, Saige. Even when times get hard.”, says Mary. Saige pauses to take in what she said, then responds, “I’ll consider it. By the way, so what’s Cain and Jacob been up to while I’ve been gone?”. “Why do you care about them?”, asks Mary. “I don’t, but I noticed Jacob has a preacher outfit now.”, says Saige. “He’s apprenticing under Father Paul.”, says Mary. “Damn, really? Huh.”, says Saige. “Yeah. And Cain is planning to do the same one day.”, says Mary. “Those two being church preachers. Ah, I already hate it.”, says Saige. “Yeah.”, says Mary.
The two watch the river for awhile, then Mary speaks, while looking down at the river. “Saige, after you got.. exiled from the town I got really worried about you. I hope you managed well on your own.” “Y-Yeah I managed well. I met a friend outside who helped me survive, and I hunted my own food.”, says Saige. “Really?”, asks Mary “Yeah. Ate some lizards and mice.”, says Saige. “Lizards and mice!?”, says Mary in shock. “Um.. yeah.”, says Saige. “Oh, I can’t believe that happened to you. Having to scounge on lizards and mice.”, says Mary. “Yeah, but it.. was fine.”, says Saige.
The two continue to look at the river, then Mary stands up. “Well, I gotta get going. My dad will probably be wondering where I am. I’m supposed to help him with work today.”, says Mary. “I’d say tell him I said, “hi”, but I know he hates me. And wouldn’t wanna see me hanging with you.”, says Saige. “Yeaah. But I’ll try to see you again Saige.”, says Mary. “Yeah, see you.”, says Saige.
Mary waves goodbye and leaves. Saige sits at the river side, then facepalms himself and says, “Why’d I have to tell her I’ve been snacking on lizards and mice?”
